kev311
does anybody have any first hand knowledge of these fixtures, It says they effectively cover 3' x 3' area sounds perfect for my 40b. http://www.starkled.com/led-aquarium-light/blunova
reefnjunkie
I would call BS on that spread-I have built LEDs using a larger heatsink than that whole unit, and used more 3 watt Cree LEDs than they use and that would not cover the spread they claim. I would be curious to see thier definition of "effectively", -rofl But to answer your question-No I do not have 1st hand knowledge
Burningbaal
no 1st-hand, but the site says 30" square, not three feet...that's a big difference -- basically 2/3s the square footage in coverage (9sqft vs 6.25) also, reefnjunkie: the whites on that are 10w diodes, so it's running 66w on the fixture, that's pretty much like running 12 blues and 10 whites on a normal fixture, seem more reasonable? oh, and 90 degree optics will help with spread. they say 25" deep, but without a par reading, so I would bet it's more like softies and hardy LPS at the bottom, SPS near the top. Jeramy
My only problem is that for the price you could get a more powerfull led set up.
