Kimberlee
So I've been waiting for this Yuma I get sometime ago to split, and it hasn't. I did notice about a week ago 2 little mouth colored and head shaped balls on the plug w/ the Yuma. They appear to be just the mouths though. So is this another way they reproduce? impur
Yep, i've had ones that had 3 or 4 mouths before the finally split. The best way i've found to propagate this type of coral is to take a razor blade and just cut a small piece of flesh where it attaches to the rock. The little part you cut will quickly turn into a new yuma, and doesn't seem to stress the original much at all.
Kimberlee
the new mouths are completely separate from the original.

nelsz3
I have had one for couple weeks and three small ones just popped up on tthe rock by the original all by themselves, so I would just wait and they'll grow out

Just a nice little surprise, seeing as it looked like it was never going to split.
siskiou
I started out with one green and one orange a few years ago, and they are everywhere now! I remember how eagerly I was waiting to them to split at first.

siskiou
I do. Make sure you keep them where they can't march all over your sps, if you have any! I probably have about 100 rics now, and they win just about any fight with other corals.

War Coral vs Ric = Ric Bleeding Apple vs Ric = Ric Trachy vs Ric = Ric Fungia vs Ric = Ric acanthophyllia vs Ric = Ric It is always the more rare coral they injure.DOH!DOH! My Rics usually do a big long base stretch on a split.
Kimberlee
Thx, I make sure to keep them on their own rocks, on the sand bed. I do have a 20 long that''s my kids first tank I can always move them too. She will just love that.

Gill
Unfortunately Yuma's high price is tied to the fact that they are slow growers, Rics on the other hand.... LOL
