Bicyclebill
For return or drain? There's no reason for pressure rated hose on drain; I use 1.5" spa drain hose that is ultra flexible. The Lee's black tubing is far more flexible than Spa flex hose for return line, and it's available up through 1.25" I believe.
TheGooseWhisperer
Home Depot sells a washing machine drain repair line for about 8 buck for a 3 to 4 foot section. One end fits snugly over 1" PVC.

Bicyclebill
Totally go with the spa drain hose. It's the same stuff you can buy with couplings on the end that come with overflows and sumps. Ace Hardware and Home Depot sell it for much cheaper, and it just so happens to fit very tightly onto barbed connections of the same size. It's got blue/black alternating rings.
