reefgeek84
Like the title says, what is the best c02 regulator w/ solenoid?
R-3
I really dont think there is a big difference between all of them as long as they have a solenoid. I think the Milwaukee one is the best for the price (cheapest) Thats just my take. I really dont know of any "high end" regs out there. One of the only differences I have ever seen is that some of the spendier ones are preset and others arent. Later Ryan
H20cooled
I've used the $80 ones from Marine depot and even the good $125 ones from there, when I setup my wifes tank I ran into a local guy that builds his one. We bought one from him and it is so much stronger and better built then any of the other ones and it is cheaper. Check out http://www.rexgrigg.com/sale Rich

Later Ryan I have heard alot of people say this and my regulator is fine. but I have also heard people say the cheap ones freeze or slow the c02 bubble count... impur
I use a JBJ reg and it works fine. No problems at all except it was shipped minus one Oring and that lead to a whole tank of CO2 leaking. But it had been running consistantly up until my transfer. I'll be putting it back online this weekend i hope.
H20cooled
My cheap one died within 6 months of use, the good one ($125) came with a bad solenoid but they replaced that. Get a good one they last a LOT longer and will not die. As for that one, the $137 includes shipping costs. Email him for local pickup and its less (less then the expensive ones online). H20cooled
I depend on the solenoid on both of mine. the cheap ones die fast but these good ones should last a long time.
oldbrownies
what about if you use one tank for two reactors? anyone know how to set that up
H20cooled
Check out that guys website. He has everything you would need to do that (splitter, 2 needle valves, etc...).
oldbrownies
that is really all it would take then? thats a sweet deal
H20cooled
Yeah the hard thing would be if you wanted to have a separate solenoid for each tank, but you could defiantly do that. That's part of the reason why I liked order from this local guy, he is really cool and will help you get the setup you need.
