andy
What are your favorite not-reef-safe fish? My tank is only a 55gal, so no humongous Angel or Trigger suggestions please (nono) Also, they'd need to get along with current stock (Yellow Tang, Banggai, Pink Spot Goby, Squarespot Anthias). Centropyge (maybe a Flame or Potter's Angel) is one of the first to come to mind (and please don't tell me they're reef safe, I know better and it just spreads the old wives' tale...), or maybe a Dogface puffer, or a small Lionfish (would that be a threat to the Anthias?) So what would you suggest? (scratch)
CA2OR
I take it your octopus is a no go in there?.....you can always get the ever so popular "reef safe" Klines butterfly....rofl.....ok....so since it isn't reef safe...what about that? andy
Good suggestion on the Kleins. Octopus, notsomuch (laugh)
Trautman
heniochus!! and they eat majanos!
CoralCrazy
A dwarf lion wouldnt be a threat but I would bet a large lion would eat your anthias. I had a dwarf lion in my reef and he never bothered my smaller fish.
CA2OR
What about some of the more aggressive wrasses? Or groupers, Harliquin Tusk, dragon wrasse, miniatus grouper, scorpions and so on.
andy
I'm worried about how the anthias would do around more aggressive fish... I'm liking the dwarf lionfish idea more and more.. or maybe a dogface puffer.
ReeFit
i like my semi-reef safe kleins.

Danik
Andy, I have a 300g tank and have a flame angel and a potters angel. They both never touched anything in the tank and I had then for long time. I have zoos, lps, SPS. Some people are just lucky.
andy
Absolutely. But in my book, being lucky isn't the same as being reef-safe.
Emerald525
Andy I think a dwarf angel would be great! Get something rare and expensive so you can be cool! Lol! I think a 55 is too small for a puffer but a saddle tobie would be a great little puffer! I have one I might part with as I had to take him out of the solana because he developed a taste for acans! He leaves zoas alone though
andy
Kim, they're awesome! They've got Mandarin eyes. Love it
Emerald525
Here's a picture of him when he was in a solana. Truly a cool fish! Just not 100% reef safe like some other fish it's hit or miss!
andy
As you know, you've got PM :-)

Gill
I saw a pic of black dog face puffer for the first time the other day, it was awesome!!! I have never kept a dwarf lion but if your anthias can fit in his mouth I see no reason why he wouldn't get eaten? I saw a spiny puffer swallow a Christmas wrasse whole the other day it was really sad :(
