siskiou Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 Does anyone know of one for sale that's healthy and eating prepared foods? We are in Portland next week and if there is one available there... Haven't been able to get one in Eugene, because they always get bought no matter if they are eating or not, and I'm not into killing another one of them through starvation. Quote
R2R2 Posted January 1, 2007 Posted January 1, 2007 We shipped in 6 prior to christmas, sold the last one on sunday, and lost none. This is not a hard fish to keep IMO. R2R2 Quote
siskiou Posted January 1, 2007 Author Posted January 1, 2007 It seems the experiences vary. On the different forums there are a lot of sad tales. And they can last for weeks before finally starving to death if they never start to accept prepared foods and there isn't enough in the tank. There is even disagreement about what they eat (vegetarian or pods). Quote
jennyf78 Posted January 2, 2007 Posted January 2, 2007 not to highjack the thread but ive had a rainfords gobi for almost a year in a 10 gallon. and he has never eaten prepaired food. he sifts the sand and eats the hair algea. am i just lucky. and i only have about 5 pounds of live rock. Quote
siskiou Posted January 2, 2007 Author Posted January 2, 2007 Maybe you have just the right amount of natural food in your tank? PS: I just saw the picture in your blog, and he certainly looks well fed! Quote
WAVES Posted January 3, 2007 Posted January 3, 2007 Try ArcticPods, the one I have seems to chow on them. Quote
Queen Angel Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 I just saw a rainford's gobi at World of Wet Pets yesterday. He looks like he needs a good home. Quote
vanz Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 where is taht store at? Right across from Aquaticus on Beaverton-Hillsdale Hwy. Opposite side of the road by the sign "TILLICUM" (laugh) (whistle), you can't miss it. But personally...I wouldn't buy saltwater fish and corals from them, they cater more to the freshwater fans. Awesome selection of freshwater, however. I believe they should step out of the saltwater game. Quote
