newfisher
Is Vegas really "that fun"? Or am I just hooked on Forums? I'm here for a week and after 2nd degree white boy from Oregon sunburns, blowing my wadd on shows and food (yes food, its not cheap dinning here) and avoiding the 110 degree heat walking around I have found myself cooped up, above the pool listning to the faint bass notes, lurking around the forums ,craigslists and ebay. Thought about taking a cab to the LFS's here, but not wanting to spend $80 in cab fare. Thought about renting a car and driving myself around to lFS's, but traffic here sucks. Its only after you are on vacation that you truely appreciate home. Taken from the room. Cesars does have a couple of really awsome tanks. A 1,000 gallon cyclinder Seahorse tank with 60 to 80 horses ranging from 2" to 8" and several species. A 10,000 gallon monster 3/4 cylinder style with mostly Rays, Tangs and Angels that is just mezmorizing!
madmike
walk over to Mirage and see the tanks there, or head down to mandalay bay and see the shark tanks and various tanks around the property. BTW i LOVE vegas!
newfisher
Headed to both places after dinner when the sun is not touching the Earth here. Thanks for the suggestions!
Michael7979
Why did you go to Vegas in July? You know it is a desert right? And it is summer too? J/K Hope you have a great time! I have never been there. :(
newfisher
Why did you go to Vegas in July? You know it is a desert right? And it is summer too? J/K Hope you have a great time! I have never been there. :( Tagged along for the wife's work conference. Couldn't let a paid suite a Cesars go un attended all day! We usually visit in the 80 degree months when they still have the pools open, no choice on this trip. Well, choice to stay home or go with her! Don't let my boredom and whining fool you...you should come! It is an amazing strip ( dirty, hot, crowded city, but the strip is amazing). If you ever have even a couple days and a few hundred bucks, you should catch a cheap flight. There are still tons of room deals and what the archetects have done here will blow your mind!!!!!!!! Everyone should see it.
Emerald525
I'm jealous! I love Vegas! Food is cheap because I only eat one meal a day! LOL! Poker and blackjack feed my appetite! Hit up the Rio buffet! Well worth it! Can you say In and out burger?!
newfisher
We get our fill ( if thtas possible) from In and Out when we see family in Cali, but it is only a mile from Cesars and you are spot on with the buffet...The Rio is the best! Friday nights when they do the seafood is amazing. Carved ice and miles of food! We tried "Pampas" at Planet Hollywood on Monday night. Its buffet style, but they bring the meat and seafood to your table on giant skewers that are fresh from the rotessierie, oven etc. Its like a Meat Parade! ReefSafari
My favorite thing to do is to go down on the street and collect all the "Nudie" card that those guys flick at you, and then proceed to back track and try and flick them back to them...some of them give you a look like "Get out of my face or I'll Stab you"(threaten)....LOL(scary) We just got back from there about a month ago...We saw the Holly Madison "Peep Show" at Planet Hollywood...mammary glands are awsome...but $160 for me and my wife to see mammary glands (nutty)....They where nice mammary glands...but ouch! I guess thats why I don't requent strips clubs too...lol Have fun!! Across the street there is a cool Piano Bar that was fun, and right next to Ceasars there is a cool outside flare bar...that was fun too... newfisher
Hahha nudie cards! I've been doinng the same thing to them! LOL Is the Piano bar at Imperial Palace? We saw Peepshow too and feel the same way and were amazed at how TV "slims down" the stars. She's got some junk in the trunk when you are 20 feet away! Hahahaa
madmike
Its like a Meat Parade! If you want to really splurge go to the SW steakhouse at the Wynn, seriously the BEST meal I have ever ate in my life! The bill however for 4 of us was just shy of $500 so it had better be good,
CA2OR
Re: Fish Nerd, Forum Junkie? I lived in Vegas for a while and visited everyother weekend....can be a lot of fun. Check out the Fireside lounge in the peppermill right across from circus circus for a drink....trip on the fire burning on water. Also, Lawry's was "F'n" amazing....pricey but oh so good. I have eaten almost everywhere in LV but Lawry's takes the cake Sent from my Droid using Tapatalk

newfisher
Its not just for the southern bretheren anymore! We saw females and a couple white guys mixed in last night. They even had 5-7 girls standing behind the concrete barriers accross the side street from the Harley Davidson Cafe as if you could window shop. The nightlife here is truely hillarious! Watta fo a dalla?

racefan
I can't imagine why you would want to AVOID 110 degree heat. But then again I'm a tad different.
7Max-GTE
Shark Reef is amazing, Lawrys is pretty insane as well - I used to work across the street from there and we would hit the lunch menu once in a while. If you can, sometimes there are courtesy shuttles from the airport to the Red Rock casino, way up on the west side of town. There is a BBQ place there called the Salt Lick that is pretty good as well. Across Charleston from the Red Rock is a place called Islands. REALLY good burgers. Like I tell everyone, Vegas is great for about 3 days. After that you run out of things to do.
