reefcam
I'm looking into an auto feeder (dry food of course ) after reading the tank of the month on another board. The guy uses an auto feeder to feed smaller portion of food through out the day which sounds like a better way to feed your fishes.. So I'm wondering if anyone locally is using an auto feeder and which one do you recommend? Thanks Jim
kilmca
i'm using one made by Hydro and it's pretty basic. it looks similar to the one in the pic below. it takes 2 AA batteries and will run a long time on them. it feeds twice a day. i use it cause i like fat fish and i have some anthia that are supposed to be fed multiple times a day.
reefcam
thanks. Do you feed flake or pellets to your fishes and do you have an air pump installed on the unit to keep the food dry?
kilmca
i feed flake and no i don't have an air pump keeping the food dry. the feeder never gets clogged. i have it dump the food into the chamber of the sump where the return pump is located and it distributes the food throughout the tank. undrtkr_00
I have the same one as kilmca showed. I only use it occasionally (when I am out of town, etc) but it has always worked well for me. No clogs so far.
