Mandinga
I have been running a new 100gpd RO unit since January without changing any membranes. The waste water usually is about double the flow of the good water, but last night i noticed the flow is now about 10x more wastewater than good water. Any idea what can cause this? Smann
How can you tell?, mine runs 3-1, it takes 3 gallons of water to make 1 gallon. take two buckets and see. Check the water pressure, thats the biggest factor in units operating correctly
JimmyK
Like said above make sure you water pressure is good. I also change out my first micron filter when my when production slows and backflush the unit.
Mandinga
Steve, I can tell because the flow went from 2:1 or 3:1 all the way down to 10:1...its a huge reduction and the pressure is the same.
kilmca
are you able to flush the membranes before the RO membrane? The unit i have allows me to do this and I do it about once a month or the production goes way down.
Mandinga
Maybe...how would I "flush" the membranes? it has 3 cannister type filters and 2 membranes on top.
