oldbrownies
I think its cool. I know tunze already has it, but this is easier on the wallet. even ff the seio is twice the size
powdertang05
why dont you just use a wave maker i bought a really cheap one for 30 bucks pm me and ill get you the link. its also on reef central
siskiou
I think some of the Seios tend to not restart when completely turned off, and the controller prevents that by taking them down to 50% power at intervalls, instead of completely turning them off. dippin61
too bad they are for the 1100's and up
mister crabs
LOL....anyone know why the seios dont restart well? dont you think that would be a design flaw they might want to look at fixing rather than adjusting the controller to the seio? there isnt any other brand out there with this issue is it? oldbrownies
they are just like the maxi mods, when you restart em the impeller may spin the wrong way and pull on the magnetic shaft and it causes issues restarting. but its that flaw that makes a seio 1/2 to 1/3 the price of a tunze
WAVES
they actually drop down to 30%, Ill have a sample at the shop in the first week of november. Ill have it for people to check out.
impur
Its not that the impeller spins the wrong way on the Seio, it just won't spin at all. You have to open the endcap and spin the impeller by hand to get them to start. The one downside IME of the Seio controller is that it can't independentely control the pumps. R-3
Anyone findout any more info about these? Can you plug others like a Maxi-jet mod? I know these are a little more spendy though. Later Ryan
impur
From everything i've read you cannot plug the MJ into this controller and have it work.
siskiou
Somebody on RC said they tried their MJ mods on it and it worked. They only left them on it for an hour though.
impur
I just don't see how that could work. The MJs are 2 pole motors where the Seio is a 4 pole. Slowing the flow to an MJ would be a different process. If it DID work, i would imagine the life of the MJ would be significantly lowered.
