siskiou Posted September 30, 2006 Author Share Posted September 30, 2006 Well, I tried out the "Herbie" today (without the backups, since I didn't want to find out it doesn't really work and have ripped apart my return plumbing in the meantime). It's great, though. Almost silent! I'll have to get gate valves, though, because I can't get it dialed in perfectly with the ball valves. And of course, you can't find any 1" gate valves anywhere in Eugene. I'm glad to know that I can get this tank's noise to a tolerable level, even though I means waiting a bit longer once again to get it properly started.
