tidalsculpin
Thanks Shawn for posting pics. They look awesome! We went to Bob Creek Wayside near Cape Perpetua. It was June 22. Low tide was a minus 2.7 ft at 6:45AM. Very beautiful stuff. I collected using my educator Science collector permit.

Cannedmulder
Not that I plan on collecting anything but do you have to have a special permit or anything to collect off the oregon coast??
steveweast
Not that I plan on collecting anything but do you have to have a special permit or anything to collect off the oregon coast?? For shellfish yes...but, for the things we're interested in.....no...just stay out of reserves. http://www.dfw.state.or.us/MRP/shellfish/regulations.asp
tidalsculpin
Yes, there is a rule about collecting no more than 10 specimens that do not fall in the regulated species listed above. Animals like the aggregating anemones could be collected without a shellfish permit on non reserve areas according to the above. Bob Creek Wayside is part of the Neptune State Park and is considered a reserve. Also, the guy who gave me some of the other species is Kenneth Wingertner. He runs a small company called foreshores.net out of Eugene. He decided to fold his business and gave me much of his livestock.
