siskiou
Seriously, this looks like blowing a bubblegum bubble! It started developing about a week ago and is still there. The rest of the coral looks normal. Should I be worried?
Saltfinsax
Mine has done that a few times. I think its kinda the norm and might be what it does before it splits. Sure makes you want to stick your finger in there and pop it like its bubblegum.
siskiou
I'm glad to hear it! I've had mine for a while and it has grown many new heads, but has never blown a bubble before!
dsoz
I have not seen any of mine do that. I have kept Euphyllia for 2 years, and had more than 100 heads before I started selling them off. Hopefully it does ok. dsoz
finch6013
I say pop it and see what happens. I'm interested to find out
dsoz
I say pop it and see what happens. I'm interested to find out That is one thing that I would advise to not do. Any damage to Euphyllia can result in brown jelly disease. The whole head will basically rot while it is slowly dying. It is not a pretty thing to watch happen. I would say just let it be for now and watch. Have you tried posing on RC or one of the other boards? You may get some better answers there. If you do, post a link to the other board so I can learn from this as well. Even though I am getting out of Euphyllia, I am still interested. dsoz
CA2OR
Mine was doing something similar recently but it has since gone down. I don't see anything wrong with it. Have you made any recent changes or upgrades?

siskiou
Yeah, I'm not planning on popping it! *g* It seems to inflate and deflate as the rest of the hammer, with it being much smaller at night and then slowly getting bigger, once the lights come on. I haven't posted to RC yet, but probably will sometime this week.
racefan
Siskiou, Did you ever get an answer about your bubble? My Hammerhead is developing one now.
siskiou
No conclusive answers. Mine still has the bubble, though it's gotten a little smaller. The rest of the coral is happy and growing.
