siskiou
I bought this a couple of months ago, when it was mostly brown. First it started coloring up at the growth edge, and now it looks like this. Sorry for the bad picture quality! I'm no good with camera settings and the coral is further back in the tank.
COReefer
could be. Looks nice

stylaster
yup i would say it is, love the neon green polyps up top
siskiou
Thanks for all the opinions! So the green and yellow polyps aren't likely to turn red eventually? And will all the new growth have red polyps, or do some turn a different color after some time? (obviously, I have no clue about rainbow monti growth patterns! )
stylaster
usually the red polyps are at the growth edge then fades to yellow then to green at the area of oldest growth heres a pic of mine
siskiou
Ah, thanks! Nice pic! It's a beauty! BTW, what is the name of that monti I bought from you last year? The one with the lavender polyps?
stylaster
ummmm i dont think it had a name, did it have a yellowish base color?
siskiou
In my tank the base is more a light tan (or maybe it's more yellow than I thought, looking at the pic)! Here's a bad pic of it!
COReefer
is that a blueberry cheesecake??? Think that's what it's called anyway. Pretty coral.

siskiou
Great name (meaning the Blueberry cheesecake)! It's growing nicely, too. Edited to add: That's impressive, Miles! I've really started to like encrusting montis! They are one of my favorite corals.
spectra
Really nice monits there(rock2) They used to be one of my favorite ones also until the monti eating nudis hit(flame) I have not had a monti in my tank in 6 months now(sad) Am waiting until the new tank is up until I get another. stylaster
ya i do believe it was blueberry cheesecake monti, hard to remember back that far
siskiou
I see you found the beginnings of the rainbow monti! And the blueberry cheesecake is a *very* slow grower in comparison!
