shaywood
Ok, I've owned my Reefer 450 for two years now. I love this tank! There's only one problem with the Reefer tanks - the overflow valve. I have spent 2 years constantly adjusting the overflow valve so it's quiet and not too high or too low. I've tried a different return pump and learned to make only the slightest adjustments - literally tiny changes. But, every day or two the overflow started to make too much noise. Well----- While exploring some pluming mod options, I decided to change the overflow valve to a Spear gate valve. It's been almost a week now and only ONE slight adjustment. If you have a Reefer tank and experience problems adjusting the overflow valve, GIVE THIS A TRY!
jonas503
I agree you have to adjust every other day or so. Hate it. Sent you a message.
JimmyK
Did it always fluctuate or did it get worse over time? I have had my reefer running about 4 weeks now but have not had to adjust since I set it up. The mod looks great!

Emerald525
Thanks for sharing ! I agree they are great Tanks and super quiet for a day or two and then have to be adjusted again.
youcallmenny
I got in a hurry with my current system and ended up with external overflows which are subject to this problem too. The issue was solved the same way. Good thing you said something because I'm picking up a 650 within the next couple months. I'll be sure to gate it.
