Ahha - payback time!  You would think I would know how this works by now but I guess age doesn't always generate wisdom :)  Actually would be happy to help...

I know you would! ?

Haven't had any power issues, although the gas stations near me did. Had to wait a while before they could pump for me, since the systems all reset. Of course, I was on my last ounce of gas after going to Cuttlefish to feed my addiction. This seems to be a recurring theme for me...

There is a tree right outside my window that is making me nervous. It's blowing around like crazy, and if it topples, it would not only crash into my apartment but also take out power lines with it. The power lines were on top of the building, but they've fallen some and are now close enough outside my window for me to reach out and touch. Looks all kinds of hazardous.

power was out here for about 6 hours- I've found my tanks are fine for 8-12 with just battery operated air stones- I did drag out the generator and had it all ready in case the power did come one before I left for work-

Power is still on at my place, but I am now thinking more about getting a backup power solution.

Knock on wood but the longest we've lost power in the almost 3 years out here was about 3 hours. But I do have a generator setup to feed my panel of needed

If it started at 7:30 then mine was out for about 11 hours. The tank seemed fine, I just churned the water with a cup mid day.

How does that work? Do you flip some breakers over and then fire up or do you have a big enough generator to run the whole house?

25 hours and still no power. PGE is still saying they don't know what caused it or when it will be fixed.

I forgot to say that houses 1 block away had power restored yesterday evening.

Flip off the main and back feed the 50 amp welding receptacle. Will keep the tank up lights on and fridge and freezer. The best way would be to have a transfer switch and only turn on the circuits you need with the flip of a switch. But I plan on selling the house is this year so didn't want to invest in it.

Up for sale is a 1/4 HP Ecoplus chiller. It's just collecting dust in my garage and I have never needed to run it on my tank. It is used but <2 years old and <6 months of use (used it when I was in TX). Great condition, super clean, no scratches, dings, dust or rust, I figure someone can use it in this weather. I am in Tigard/Bull Mountain. You pickup please. $150

Dual 400 Watt Metal Halide Ballast w/cords

      Pictures: http://portland.craigslist.org/clc/pet/5456836299.html

Ballast is in good used condition with a few paint chips/scratches. It does power on.
Makes a slight humming/buzzing sound when on. I believe this is normal for most MH Ballasts.
It has a date of Nov. 05 on back label. I assume this is the manufacture date. I bought this new but can't recall the date of purchase. It has been kept in dry storage for several years. Ballast was used in aquarium application.
The cords are in ok shape - could use a little cleaning on the prong plugs.
There is two (2) 400 watt XM bulbs. Not sure the age of the bulbs. Even though the bulbs light up, they probably should be replaced to get true spectrum and intensity.

Manufacture: Sunlight Supply Inc. Vancouver, WA USA

BW 2 Dual MH-400 Plus Start
      120V 8A 800Watt 60Hz
This ballast operates 2 metal halide mogul base lamps (400watt type M 135)

      $45.00 OBO (cash only)
Sold As Is. No returns or trades.
Item Location:  Welches, Oregon 97067 - No shipping!
      Serious inquiries only, please.

Hi all! I actually live in Arizona but my brother is in Portland. He would like to set up a tank; 29gal-60gal. Where is the best place to purchase? Does this forum have a buy/sell section? Is there another site/forum for the area where there is a buy/sell section?

I am fortunate to have a reef club on reefcentral.com. Unfortunately, there is not a club listed for the Portland area. Any suggestions would be helpful; such as good saltwater stores, etc.
