  1. Well I figure its time to get started on my build thread ( No pictures currently my camera is busted!) I have had one tank prior to this which was a freshwater with our local fish bluegill, crappie large mouth/small mouth bass ect ect it went well the entire time granted I used everything from where I caught them. My plans are a mixed reef sps heavy reef. I currently have a 75g display tank from marineland and I will be using a 40b with a DIY kit as a sump. The stand doesnt support a sump so the sump will be in the basement. This will be an adventure and I hope you all will be able to enjoy the trials and tribulations. Current inventory 75g marineland aquarium with stand (I have already drilled this aquarium with 3 drains and 2 return 2x1" 1x3/4" drains and 2x3/4" returns) 40g breeder 100lbs of dry rock Reef octo 150sss classic. BRS 150gpd 4 stage rodi. 3x 55 gallon food grade water barrels 20h qt tank with oversized hob heater and powerhead waiting to go.
  2. Im starting to think that 1000gph is dragon I shouldnt be chasing!
  3. Its standard 75. And will be pulling from a 40b sump
  4. Im looking for about 1000gph its not 10 feet exactly its more like 7'6" of vertical and im trying to only use 3 90s in the system so i figured 10ft of head pressure is a decent estimate
  5. Luckily im blessed with the basement being concrete floor and my sump is 3 feet away from the basement sump pump in case something goes south. But. Ive been on the fence about soft or hard plumbing because im going through a wall to avoid drilling in the floor.
  6. Hey thanks ive been so excited to get this done and going I was going to attempt a sw aquarium back in 2012 but I ended getting into a different hobby and now it seems that we have made some big break throughs since then
  7. Okay so ill be placing my sump in my basement! And ive been trying to decide if i should go with a reeflo swordtail pump or 2 neptune cor20s i need about 10 feet of head pressue and im up in the air at this point sound isnt a problem cause the equipment will be in the basement
