  1. Finally got around to checking the plumbing for leaks. So far no water on the floor so that’s a good sign for now. I plan to run it for the day with this well water. Then I will drain the system, clean up any pvc pipe debris and be ready for rock scape and saltwater. The wife is finally getting exited for the tank .
  2. I would like to think that someday I would be to that level, but that would be way down the road and after someone taught me how to not kill them while I try. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Jeff said it shipped late last week and he said it usually only takes a week. With Covid I anticipate shipping taking a little longer than normal, but I’m hoping to have it in about a week or two. Now I just need to finish up the plumbing to the fish room and I’ll be ready to go. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Yes, the plan is to cut out the mono straps and I have a cover going over the top of the existing footing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Well, after about 8 years away from the hobby I’m jumping back in head first. I gave up 8 years ago after finally getting tired of moving tanks. Until about a year ago we would move every couple years and moving a tank so often just got to me a bit too much. Now that we are settled in I figured it was time to go at it again. About three months ago I ordered a tank and some equipment through Jeff at CNC. It sounds like the tank may have shipped last week so fingers crossed it will be in it’s new home soon. It is 66”X24”X24” low iron glass. Drilled for the synergy reef overflow. Over the last few months work hasn’t allowed me much time to prep for the tank, but I have been able to get a little done on the fish room. I saw a mixing station on here by SuncrestReef and I liked it so much I copied it (hopefully he isn’t mad I copied, it was just so well thought out). The fish room is in a section under the house. It only has about 6’ of headroom, but I’m not very tall so it works pretty well. I started by adding a couple designated 20 amp circuits and insulating the entire space. Next I covered the walls and ceilings with Plywood, then FRP panels. I added a sink for clean up, and finished up the mixing station. Currently my plan is to run an Neptune Apex with trident, ATT and dos. Along with 3 Echotech Radion Blue for lighting. For flow I will run at least two Vortech MP 40’s. I plan on having a mixed reef. , but still thinking about what all I want to put in. Well, so far so good. I just hope I don’t screw anything up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I ordered a 160 gallon tank with low iron glass. I haven’t figured out all of the equipment, but I know I’ll be using a Neptune apex for monitoring for sure and Radion blues for the lights Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Hello, I am new to the forum. I am down here here in the Salem area. I have been out of the hobby for about eight years. I am amazed at the improvements in technology for the reef tank. I have had a 90 gallon mixed reef a very long time ago and a couple nano tanks as well. We used to move quite often and the stress of moving tanks put me off the hobby for awhile. Now years later we are settled in for the long haul and after spending countless ours in my home office it dawned on me that it would be awesome to have a reef tank to look at and enjoy while sitting at my desk for endless hours. I bit the bullet and ordered a custom tank and equipment from Jeff at Cuttlefish and Coral a few months ago and I am super exited to get it up and running. I am hoping to have the time to do a build thread at some point and (fingers crossed) I remember to be patient. I have been reading post for awhile and have gotten some great ideas about mixing stations and general equipment. I am really looking forward to being back in the hobby and having a local forum to bounce ideas off or ask for help with potential problems. Thanks, Jason
  8. Hello, beautiful tank. I really like the minimalist rock scape. I am new to the forum and I was wondering if I could ask you about your overflow. I ordered a new tank a few months ago and had it drilled for the synergy shadow like your tank. During the time I've been waiting for it I have seen both really positive reviews and some really bad ones too and now I am a little worried I made a bad choice. Did you find it difficult to tune to make it silent? Also if its not too difficult is there any way you know what the return line spacing is on the overflow, The only info Ive been able to get is on the drilling template. I am running my return lines downstairs and I wanted to get as much done before the tank and overflow show up.
