Also made me think of something I've always wondered, has anyone ever tried stealing live coral or fish from any of the local stores?? I've always wondered if reef store owner's have to worry about coral theft or even fish theft? Pretty off topic lol but your post reminded me of the local farm store here that used to sell puppies, chicks are even kittens and people stole them all the time before they started taking precautions! I've always been curious if anyone has ever tried stealing live coral, I cannot be the only one that's ever wondered that right?? You'd have to be pretty brazen (and stupid) but you never know

Hobo spiders I think? When we lived in Forest Grove they were in our wood pile and started migrating into the garage and then house. Had to spend a small fortune to have an exterminator wipe them out, kids were babies then so I didn't like the thought of those huge spiders everywhere.

thank you yes I was confusing the hobo with the recluse.

Ha, come to my house. They are everywhere in the rhododendron forest I have. I get some pretty big ones. And my favorite, the brown recluse, at least that's what they look like.

may be giant house spider they look very similar. I though I had brown recluse at my old place but after research I found they were just giant house spiders.

The color they produce is amazing. It is the growth and overall health of the coral, that we are curious about.

I have no personal experience but these just hit the market a very short time ago so I would say it's hard to know other than red sea's testers.

  5. I've been curious about this same thing I tried to do some research but it's all conflicting seems alot of people were claiming allowing a 3-4 degree swing throughout the day was ok since in the ocean that is natural. it also will make your coral hardier. but I feel most people try to keep it in the +-1* range which is what I do. hopefully some of the more experienced people will chime in here.
