  1. Thank you Jeremy We want to do corals, anemone, and some clownfish and such. Being our first aquarium, I'm not sure how deep we want to go. We're really tight on our budget and are trying to get one thing at a time. Sent from my SM-N915V using Tapatalk
  2. I'm sorry l, i forgot to mention that it's an acrylic tank Sent from my SM-N915V using Tapatalk
  3. Thanks for your input And should I put a thin layer of plywood on the top? Sent from my SM-N915V using Tapatalk
  4. I meant particle board, not plywood Sent from my SM-N915V using Tapatalk
  5. P.S. The stand I have right now is made out of plywood and covered on all the sides besides a door in front, and an accessing area in back (not the entire back in open). Sent from my SM-N915V using Tapatalk
  6. Hi Everyone, I'm in a huge dilemma at the moment. I have a 55G tank with a stand with right dimensions. But the problem is that I can't fit a good sized sump under it. The inside width of the stand is a little less than 12inch whereas the width of a 20G Long (that's the size of sump I'm thinking of using) is 12.5inch. So I was thinking about making a stand that is good for a 75G tank (as rhe length is the same on both, just that 75 is more wider), as this will give me more room inside the stand to work with a Sump. I would setup the sump somewhere else, but we live in an apartment and we have a son who's 18months old, so we have to keep it away from his sight, inside the stand. So, is that gonna be a good idea? I'll just have 2.5inch of extra space in front and back of the aquarium, considering it's set right in the middle. I'll really appreciate your guy'd input. 7. Hi Everyone, I'm looking for a protein skimmer for 55g setup, and I'm also looking for a stand that is big enough to hold a 55G tank and 20G sump underneath it. My current stand can only hold a 10G and that's too small. So let me know if you guys have anything for me. Thank you, Nakul Sent from my SM-N915V using Tapatalk
  8. Okay, I'll keep that in mind Thank you again Sent from my SM-N915V using Tapatalk
  9. I'll follow you on here so if I ever need anything I can get in touch with you. On the other note, would you have an aquarium stand large enough to hold a 55g tank? The stand I have right now won't hold a sump a large enough sump underneath it. Sent from my SM-N915V using Tapatalk
  10. Surely, thanks Sent from my SM-N915V using Tapatalk
  11. Hi PowderBlue, I'd totally take it, if you can come a little lower on the price. Money is a major issue for us at the moment, and we still got a lot of stuff to add to the setup to get the aquarium going. Let me know Thanks Sent from my SM-N915V using Tapatalk
  12. Hey Brian, Thanks for the suggestion. I did look at 302, but a new one is way out of my budget at the moment. I asked a few people about 301 after Jack responded, and they all say it'll be fine for my setup. But I'm open to more suggestions. It's going to be my first ever aquarium, and I am really tight on budget. Sent from my SM-N915V using Tapatalk
  13. Hey Jack, I might be interested in it. What's the location? Sent from my SM-N915V using Tapatalk
  14. Hey Jack, What is the base diameter of the skimmer? Sent from my SM-N915V using Tapatalk
  15. Hello Everyone, So as I previously told I am setting up a 55G tank. Now I have decided to setup a sump for it as well. But it won't be any bigger than a 15 or 20g tank, so I am looking for a Protein Skimmer for it. Something that is rated for 75G or 100G. I am afraid I won't be able to place a skimmer any bigger than that inside the sump. So if you guys are trying to get rid of your skimmer, let me know. Thank you, Nakul
  16. I would like a small skimmer for my 55G setup as well Something I can fit inside a small sump. Thank you
  17. Hi Everyone, We (My wife and I) recently got a used 55G SeaClear tank, as we are really low on the budget. It is in a good condition and we are trying to setup a salt water tank (It's going to be our first aquarium). We'll highly appreciate your guys input to help us figure it out. Thank you, katarian
  18. Hi Everyone, Let start with an introduction. My name is Nakul, and I live in Corvallis, Oregon. My wife and I got into this hobby (more like getting into it) after we had a roommate who had a freshwater tank, but he recently moved out. And now we are too used to having an aquarium at our place. We have decided to start with a salt water aquarium (but real slow as we are just students and can't throw in a lot of money all of a sudden). Besides this, in my day to day life, I like to play soccer, video games, photography, and traveling. I am a mechanical engineering student, and my wife just graduated with a degree in Animal Science, and is thinking about going to Veterinary School. I guess this is where I will end the introduction. It's a pleasure being a part of this community. Thank you, Nakul
