Welcome! I am newer to the forum but have found this to be great resource with welcoming people.

I will have to check out your shop the next time I am down that way. Sounds like it could be interesting.

Yes its a pretty strong magnet, I also used a couple of frag plug stems glued on it to form a base to attach the coral to.
Pretty cool. I might need to try that

Wow! That is very........interesting......

This an interesting discussion and something I have not thought much about. I have a built in corner overflow but a pretty good amount of surface movement.

Welcome to the forum! Nice looking tank. My 42g is nearing a year old as well.

I have to drop in this weekend! Those are some great pics and selection!
-
Tank looks good. That is some good looking rock also!

I have my Reef Keeper Elite set up to shut down the heater when/if it gets to warm. I will soon be getting two heaters for redundancy with each set up to be shut down if things get too warm.

Looks like a nice setup. I like the yin yang play of the rock work!

Sent you a PM. I am in Battle Ground and have some cycled rock.

That is pretty cool. I wonder if they have it in its own display or with other creatures? Any idea the size of this thing?

Amazing looking tank! Maybe someday.........

I like the magnetic plug idea. Does it grip well? I would worry about the flow catching the frag as it gets bigger.

Very cool! I love the planted sales display.

I once did a 20% water change and realized after dumping the old water out that I had only purchased enough water for a 10% change! Of course the store was closed by the time I realized. I ended up running the sump really low and using some dishes and stuff to displace water so there was enough to run for the night.
I now keep RO/DI water and salt mix on hand and never dump the old water until the tank is filled and running.

I was just in there Sunday and all looked the same. I had no idea it was changing hands. Jason owes me a little credit so I better collect quick!

I use the IC gel as as well with very good results. I put a good size blop on the base of the coral and work it into the rock a bit with the base of the coral I am attaching. This gets the gel into the texture of the rock so it has something to grip to. I lift the frag up a time or two also when working it into the rock and it seems to get tacky very quick like contact cement. I hold it for thirty seconds or so and all is good!

I am in. I was just getting ready to do an order!
I had to do an order today and could not wait. I will probably still order through the group buy though.

That is beautiful! I love the zoa's and hope to build my selection. Nice pics!

Welcome! I am up in salmon creek so not too far, if you ever need anything feel free to hit me up. I can always frag corals too if you are needing some new color.
Thanks for the offer. Once I get everything in place I might take a look and see what you have. I have some German Blue digi that I need to sell also (cheap). It was one big ball but it is so delicate that I now have multiple frags available!

I just replaced most of the rock work in the tank so I will have to get pics posted when I get everything in place. Right now stuff is strewn all over the bottom and on the rock waiting for final placement. I replaced all of my BRS Reef Saver with cycled Pukani that I got from member Zwickm (thank you!). I like the look of the Pukani better and I got some great looking pieces.
By the way, If anyone is interested I have about 35 pounds of the rock I took out (BRS Reef Saver) that I will be selling. It is fully cycled and has some coralline growth on it. It is in a tub with pump and heater and has been cycled for more than five or six months. The tank has no pests so it is very clean and pest free.

Is that dct8000 overkill for the 42 gsllon tank? I just got one and gonna run in on about 130 gallon frag tank
Yes, it is bigger than I need but came with the tank (used setup). I run it at 50% with hard-plumbed pipe so there is some restriction with a couple of 90 degree elbows.

I am looking forward to updates. I have thought about setting up a smaller tank.
