  1. LPS are my favorite corals.  My two favorites are my dendro and sun coral!   I adore the dendro because they're always open and fat and happy.  I adore the sun coral because when they're open and fat and happy (night time, happily fed) they have a distinct look to them.  Top photo is dendro.  Bottom photo is sun coral.20180603_142027.jpg

Pictures would be helpful but you can also google Ich for pictures.Treating requires taking the fish out and treating with cupramine or hyposalinity. If it truly is Ich , I honestly don’t do anything if the fish looks okay and is eating well. Many fish will fight it off. I know this isn’t the popular answer but personally I have found taking the fish out and then throwing them in a tank and treating with copper stresses them out. If it is Marine velvet or Brookynella then you need to get the fish out and treat.

This is the same thing I've found.  The very best luck I've had is with hypo-salinity.  This article by Terry Bartelme has excellent information in it with the exact salinity needed for different issues or simply acclimating.  https://www.advancedaquarist.com/2007/6/fish

  3. We are planning to get some.  While waiting for enough aiptasia to grow we got some aiptasia eating filefish.  They ate all of it. They are really slow moving interesting fish and have become some of my favorite.  I've read they can eat coral, though.  They haven't done that in our tank, but probably wouldn't recommend them for a reef tank.  My favorite thing for aiptasia if you don't want to have to get fish is just calcium mixed up and squirted into their mouths.  I'm still interested in getting berghia's at some point, though, if we can keep enough rock covered in aiptasia in a separate tank with them alive for eating.  We are trying to grow some aiptasia in our garage tank to see how much we can accumulate before getting the berghias.

Today we stopped at Cuttle Fish and Coral! Saw several forum members there as usual.

Picked up a torch , scarlet hermits , a fire shrimp and a fighting conch. The grandkids were really excited particularly for the Flame Angel. I normally don’t risk them in my tank but this is going to be mostly softy lps so not too worried and they are just such cool fish! Rearranged the rock work and also added a few things from my frag tank!

Sirena and I did a 5 gallon water change but tank was looking prettty good! I actually expected more hair algae since it’s by the window but there wasn’t much !0DA5FBB7-F553-40FE-8482-C541C3DAD943.jpegBDC67194-82B3-4462-A9E0-5AC65B64EA12.jpegE19C4A5E-1B3F-41E2-B498-3BF59E234B6B.jpeg

@CuttleFishandCoral great to see you as always thanks again! Isella loved handling the hermits and snails!

Oh my gosh they are so adorable! ♡

  5. I love this thread so much!  Cool to see all the peeps I can harass in the future to help me.  I'm basically a glorified receptionist.  I worked for years as a medical transcriptionist and a medical payable specialist, front office medical assistant, office manager, marketing specialist, etc.  Now I run a cleaning company franchise in our area and assist in a fish store.  I adore trading skills and would love to with any saltwater people!  Need your house cleaned?  I need some fishstore cabinets built!  :-)

Ok in the middle brackets there I think I'm looking at 2 Scoly's? a bleeding apple and what I think might be a Warpaint? Got a better picture of that and how much?

Yes, when Bret gets back in a few I'll ask him!  :-)

  7. These are just a sampling!  Sorry about the cell phone pics.  FYI: The last photo of the rabbitfish and 2 spot tang = they appear to be inseparable and I hope they go to the same home!  I'll try to post more pics.  We still have the gorgeous cowfish and huge beautiful starfish and sooooo many others!

  8. We have an insane amount of fish in right now.  We've had most of them for MONTHS so they are very fat and happy (i.e., I like to feed my fish a lot, hence the daily water changes in our tanks, sorry Bret).  Anyway, if you're looking for fish that you know are healthy come check ours out!
