  1. Only selling the one, why are you selling it if you don't mind me asking? Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  2. OK, no hurry. Just have been looking to buy one for a bit and wouldn't mind getting one at a discount! What size tank do I have it on? Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  3. awesome, look forward to it. Thanks for the quick response!
  4. I use a reefcorner LED and love it! Just bought it about 3 weeks ago and I could not be happier, one of the sponsors of the sight! Very reasonable price and the owner is very pleasant to work with!!! He will help you in any way he can and will do anything to help. When I purchased mine, he answered every question I had, and to go the EXTRA mile he even set up the two lights I was considering on the exact same tank I had and did PAR readings for me with both, he is amazing and would buy from him over and over!! If you need his contact info, PM me. Check out his site and lights he offers. PM me if there is anyting else you would like to know!
  5. That what I figured I would do, just didn't know if it would be too much flow for both. Trying to keep the flow down a bit as of now due to microbubbles and lack of bubble traps. Getting the sump rebuilt here very soon and am hoping it will take care of the problem. It doesn't release much but when its all the way open its a little bad. The microbubbles are my main concern that once everything is built, I don't want to have to worry about this problem at all, and the higher the flow the worse chance I have that the bubble traps will do their job if it's pushing them through too fast. That's why I'm wondering if I should just put the skimmer in the refugium or not to take care of the problem, hopefully. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  6. I have two fixtures for bulbes, as well as reflector. $125 takes all. Everything works, used it before I upgraded to LED's. Have two moonlight LED's that will go with it as well. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  7. I have a 65g DT 10+ gallon sump and here shortly will have sump rebuilt and a 38g refugium added on to it. So the advice I'm looking for from you vets is as of now, I just have water circulating from sump back into DT (obviously) and when I get sump rebuilt (22Lx12Dx16T) I was planning on putting in just two chambers separated by bubble traps. First chamber is for the skimmer and second chamber is going to be just live rock rubble. The way it is plumbed now is this: Pipe on farthest left is gravity fed from durso up top, the one next to it is the emergency overflow, the line coming out the side is the return that goes up the back and splits into two returns in the back of tank as seen here. The circulation pump is an external little giant rated at 1100 gph toned down a bit to avoid microbubbles in current setup. The question is, is when I have my sump rebuilt with the bubble traps, the plan I had is to keep this loop between sump and DT and from refugium have the same setup in a sense with the gravity feed and an emergency going to the sump and have an internal pump pumping water from sump to refugium. This way I can dedicate 100% of 38g volume to be strictly the refugium. Might have an area with a baffle for the intake coming from sump so it doesn't disturb the refugium. Does this seem like it would be a good way to go? The pump I have is a very large pump and don't want to have to buy another one if not needed but not sure about using it for the refugium and the return to the DT. Should I just split it off and install gate valves to control flow to DT and refugium? The refugium will be going in a specially designed box to be covered from exposure (as if it were under a tank but...not being under a tank). There will be an area for ATO to be stored inside with shelves on it as well since its in my living room. I'm looking for any input here as I am spending quite the chunk to do this the absolute right way and really want this to be a very stable system when done. Thanks in advance and look forward to all replies!!!! Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  8. Very nice!!! I'm jealous! You have an external pump as well? I'm finding that doing that is rare but I do as well. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  9. Anybody else to chime in? Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  10. Awesome, thank you. Will check him out! Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  11. I am wanting to pay somebody to install baffles and drill holes in my 38g for my new refugium build. I would prefer glass baffles considering it would prob be cheaper than acrylic but doesn't really matter to me. Total of 6 baffles and two 1" holes for drains. If you need any other info please feel free to contact me via pm or reply to post. Thanks for reading! Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  12. Ya I'm hoping for that cuz I will know that it's moving forward. It's like your dog being a week old, an after 3-4 weeks, has grown at all!!! Haha, I just am hoping it's moving forward. What level will nitrites spike to. I know every tank is different, just wondering about what number is normal for cycling. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  13. Update on levels: Ammonia is .08 Nitrites are .05-.1 (color is close!) Nitrates are 2-3 (prob 2.5 ish) Diatoms stopped once lights were off, but have had mixed messages about leaving them on and off. Any ideas, I do have fish so I like them on in the day cuz the fish are much more active with them on! Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  14. And when I started cycling there was a few pieces of small raw shrimp in there a well. So there was something for the bacteria to munch on, just not a whole lot. I didn't test for about 1.5-2 weeks after I started cuz the tests I had were all expired and I was waiting for the red Sea kit to show up. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  15. Maybe a bit more than 20 lbs, prob 20-30 Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  16. About 50-60 lbs of base rock, and I have added prob 20 lbs of 100% cured live rock since the start of the tank. And what the hell is sponge squeeze...???? Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  17. I have set up a 65g tank and began cycling about 3+ weeks ago. I'm not impatient of this process, just stumped. I got some "Stability" from Premium Aquarium and had dosed that according to the directions and it states u can put fish in once dosing. I did not do this but did after the allotted 7 day dosing period. I put 2 blue damsels in and they have been doing great after a couple days of settling. Very happy, don't seem stressed at all. Have formula 1 pellets and frozen mysis shrimp I have been feeding them about every other day to avoid over feeding. So here is the question with this process..... I have been monitoring the levels in my tank EVERY day since I put them in, saw my ammonia spike to about 1.2-1.5 or so and after 6-7 days it never dropped, so I did a water change of only 5g to avoid screwing up the process. It has gone down but I have yet to see any trace of nitrites to show me the process is still moving along. Here are my levels: Salinity-1.024-1.026 Ammonia-.8-1.2 (since water change) Nitrites-0 Nitrates-almost undetectable Phosphates: 0 Temp- 80-81 I also have a diatom bloom that was going nuts but I turned the light off for a couple days and it has slowed down. Any input is appreciated, I know the process very well, just have read in places that nitrites have gone up and back down in a few cases so fast that the person was unable to detect them by the time they tested the water. Had also introduced a couple snails that died, from ammonia I'm assuming, now just down to damsels again. Thanks again for all input!!! Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  18. Found one, thanks everybody! Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  19. I just ordered the tunze doc 9410, check it out and see if that's what u mean, its for media and bubbles. Do the socks take care of "ALL" the microbubbles? There is a lot of space between my inlet and outlet but its very high flow in my sump, so it doesn't get enough time to rise nd/or pop. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
  20. How do you keep micro bubbles from going into display tank? Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
