Starting a new build, 26x26x18 cube and have a 24x24x16 sump built. I want to move about 1000gph I'm thinking through the sump. It will e sps dominant, and I am going pretty high end on equipment. I am thinking single drain, with a secondary emergency drain, and then a single return pump that will split into 2 pipes near the top to add more directional flow.
I am looking to do this DIY, and have done my last tank This way but want it to look clean and have all the pipes within the overflow drilled throuh the bottom so the cube sits flush with the wall. I am thinking 1 inch drain and 1 inch return, but am not enitely sure if this is sufficient in size. I have also seen multiple methods to minimize noise, but don't really know what's best?
Hope someone can help! Thanks

How do you gravity feed ATO? Just set amount drip/day?I was going to drill it because I used a gravity fed ato. The bucket sits above my sump.

Phyto, just got some from algaebarn in Colorado so far so good with it. Also yes I does acro power but only once weekly so u less you have heavy filtration don't over do either of these.

aprox. 25 Polyp sun coral colony - $25
Large Cespitularia $60
Or will sell both for $75. I am located in Bellingham, WA so kind of far north. may be willing to come to Seattle on the weekends, and am open to trades, particularly looking for more sps/lps. Also will be attending the Bob Moore swap if that helps meet up.

Good feedback thanks, I will plan on pre ordering a ticket it sounds like!I went last year, there are lots of nice corals at decent price.
Lots of individual vendors with unique collections there.
The best always gone the first few hours of show opening, killer deals will start a few hours before closing.
When you see something affordable you like to purchase get it immediately because it may not be there the second time around.

Alright I appreciate the feedback, in your experience were prices from vendors at discount? Or more so the hobbyist tables were where the deals were at?I went last and it was a lot of fun.
Big selection and overall good pricing. Some low some a little higher.
Stylaster from the forum will have a booth set up.
Looking to fill up a new frag rack... So trying to get the most bang!

I have a coralife 65g you can have for free, it works well unless you have really overstocked 40 breeder. I am using the maxijet though so you would need a new $20 pump. Otherwise you can have the pump included for 20$.
I live pretty far though, Bellingham WA.

I have been in the hobby less than a year now, and recently heard about the Bob Moore frag swap this Feb. 20th. I am curious if some of you have been and what I can expect in terms of prices for corals?
I am looking to pickup a sizable lot of new SPS, hopefully closer to 2" frags and am curious if this event is the way to go?
I am sure the selection will be amazing, but I am wondering if I could make a better deal with one of our PNWMAS members whos tank needs some trimming. Event seems really cool so will probably attend either way, but would love some info about it if anyone is familiar?!
Junior's 34g cube build. Advice welcome.

Nice looking build, I am in the process of designing a 55g cube, and am really sick of my dosing pump! How do you like the Aquamaxx nano reactor? How do you think it would run on a 55g, w/ 20g sump?
