  1. I am making a trip to Portland for work tomorrow, and would like to buy a larger pack of sps (10-12 frags, give or take).  Fresh cuts or encrusted on plugs already would be fine, but would like to get pieces of similar size as they are for my new system.  Hoping to get a better price by purchasing as a larger quantity.  I would be able to come by anywhere in the Portland area tomorrow afternoon around 1-3 PM.  If you can pm me what you have that would be awesome.  I may be interested in a few other zoas or acans as well, but primarily an SPS pack.  I have a few pieces in mind that I would like, but a list of what you have for sale may work best! Thanks

  2. Super clean looking! Nice work!

What is being dosed? I see you have a reactor setup, are you using the doser to dose aminos or trace or something like that?

Thanks a bunch!  Corals have already colored up noticeably since the move.  I currently have the dosing pump adding Kent Tech M 20ml/day, Acropower 5ml/day at night, and Seachem Fuel 5ml during peak photo period.  I am also dosing 10ml of reef energy A & B twice weekly, and Reef Chili once a week.  I just feed Hikari and Rods food to the fish.  Trying to mimic Arsonmfg in terms of dosing to be quite honest, so some credit to him.

Got the system up and running, corals still trying to color up! Really happy with how it turned out. Will post rockscape pictures, and would love some input on sps placement.  Wish I would have been better about posting as the build came along, but life seems to always get in the way!

  4. Also a simple fan works well. I have a small computer fan on top of the tank in my garage. Garage is 85 plus but tank is holding steady at 77 to 78 with the fan.

Currently have a fan on top right now, after coming home to it at 84 the other night and freaked out.  Happily sitting at 78 now, although I am worried about what happens when it gets 100 plus this summer.  Looks like it might be a hot one, and I will be out of town for 5 months will an inexperienced tank sitter.

You might also want to consider a portable A/C unit (about the Same price) Except the A/C benefits you & the tank, not just the Tank. My condo was getting pretty hot Friday night 85F :cussing:

Bought a 12k BTU unit, after a few hours running everything in the living room was cooled down and the Tank is back to being steady at 78F! I had pondered a Chiller myself but realized I was sick of laying around in my boxers sweating with the fish.

Any idea what the electricity cost of this idea would be, I know electricity is cheap up here, but figured cooling a tank is much less energy intense that cooling an entire apartment.

Anyone else please weigh in! :)

  5. What  size tank? I have a 1/5 HP chiller that will do up to a 120G. Virtually brand new (<1 year old) and in perfect condition. Looking for $200.

What brand and model?  That size would probably work, 55g Display, and 30g Sump.
