  1. Thanks! Picking up some more zoas tonight and looking into getting more softies. Any suggestions? Looking for ones I can eventually frag that will have some demand on them.

  2. After recently moving I finally got my tank up and running. It's a 40galbreeder withDIY LED lighting on a controller for a sunrise sunset setting. 20gal sump with Cad Lights protein skimmer and 2 reactors carbon/GFO with a ecoplus528 for my return.

2 b&w snowflake clowns with a sand sifter

Corals I have a small collection of zoas (not sure the names, nothing fancy... Yet.) and two colonies of frogspawn. I started dosing PolyLab "reef-roids" tonight was my second time dosing and I can definitely see some health in the corals. I only use half the recommended dosage (1/4tsp per 25gal) and direct feed with pumps off. Have a little apestia problem but just threw in a peppermint shrimp to hopefully clear that up. Also seeing an algae problem on the sand bed but I believe it is due to flow patterns and working on that. Hope to make this as interactive as possible so let me know what y'all think, any advice or questions welcome! 52b0bd655ab1adfdafa6f9b05007d972.jpge7668041cb446a0d958a8d40cbb0dd36.jpgd6b64ccfaa0fcf7d89212d4eee0955cf.jpgac33bc4167b8eb6c7e8b4a6392f5a400.jpg25e59cca3ab727dc2b2f1e7d1cbea305.jpg

  3. A little blued, but my guess would be Blue Eyed Girls. I would not smoke it if i were you. Or anybody, lol.

    Hahaha totally meant frag

Thanks for the ID I'll look more into it.

  4. I've been able to find it by just googling description but not a general idea of worth. It's growing pretty well and I'm debating starting a drag of it. Thanks' 4eff874fc958b4010c120c2a9c882978.jpg

  5. As the title says I ordered the wrong size and don't really want to deal with return shipping then paying shipping again. So is anyone in need of this? Beaverton located and would be interested in a trade or an idea it cost 7$ never used so I would take 5$ Ora frag of something.

    Shoot me a text 8133992306

  6. As the title suggest I'm looking for a hammer or frogspawn frag. Hoping in the 20$ range. Shoot me a text with a pic and info if you have something! 8133992306 I'm located in the Beaverton area but willing to drive for a deal ;). Thanks for feedback!

  7. So my aqua lifter rig finally bit the bullet after a couple years of faithful service.  Luckily my wife was able to catch it overfilling before flooding or completely destroying my salinity.  Looking for something rated for a 40gal Tank.  Just want to see whats available before i buy new. Thanks for any feedback!

ps.  Beaverton OR would be ideal but I'm willing to drive for a deal.

  8. So i built my LED lighting setup and it controls everything by percentage.  So i have it on what seems to be ideal for my corals but it could be stronger.  Does anyone have a par meter i could use for a day?  Or anyone want to help a reefer out and come over for half an hour and teach me the ways of the par?  Im in the Beaverton Portland area and want to make sure my lighting is ideal before i invest in more corals.  Thanks for any feedback!

  9. So i stuck with Red Sea Pro.  Ive noticed some of my SPS melting and my frogspawn not coming out all the way now its not looking to good at all. So i figured i would do a water change then test my parameters.  While i was doing the water change i noticed that my cats have flicked some kibble into the sump... So i figured this would change some of the chemical balance so i did a 5 gal water change, cleaned the filter sock, cleaned out my main return pump and scrubbed the sump floor really good and plan on doing another 5gal water change this weekend.  So I'm down 1 1/2 SPS but my zoas and anemone are looking good.  once i do the water tests ill post the results.  Ive also been dealing with a slowly growing Aiptasia problem but plan on getting some peppermint shrimp to help.  This is what happens when you take yourself out of the hobby for a couple years then try to jump back in haha.  Also i have a DIY LED light set up using Rapid LEDS i built them with a controller and they're controlled by percentage.  Any advice on how i can know what percentage is the correct percentage, without buying a light meter? Thanks for following along!

  10. Help please! so I've read about these guys and as of right now I have about 10-15 I read about the syringe with lemon juice and taking rock out but wanted to see if there are any fish or another proven successful technique that I could use. Thanks for any feed back!

  11. Just curious as to if there will be a November meeting?  Im not yet a member but my wife has motivated me to do so which is awesome.  She figured if i was going to invest so much in the tank than i rather join forces with other like minded people haha.

    Thanks for any response,  Nic

  12. That time to get more salt.  Ive been using Red Sea Pro but want to see what others prefer.  Im satisfied with that salt so i might consider getting it again because of the additives and coral results I've had from it.  What else do people use to minimize additives or visa-versa.

    Thanks!

  13. Now there is a true dealer........ after the 5 dollar one the next will be 20 then 50  Oh it never stops......

Tank is looking good! It is nice to do things yourself.

haha true but glad to know! Got some new zoas today, ill post some pictures once the lights are on.
