  1. I need nitrate export. My chaeto melted away... The algae in my chamber two out-competed it.
  2. I'll bring a couple 2-liters of soda/cola/pop if I can get some dang chaeto... Local stores don't have any. :( (Chaeto, that is.)
  3. I'm going to dip and QT corals as I get them, and the QT is occupied right now...
  4. My tank isn't quite ready for corals yet... They do have some nice stuff on the site right now, but the last time I was in the store they had some stuff I wasn't really interested in bringing home: aiptaisia and GBA. The GBA looked to be contained to one or two very tiny tanks, but the aiptaisia had gotten out of the peppermint tank.
  5. All this talk of a pest tank on N-R, and I never knew you were in the PNW!
  6. Sorry to hear about the tank... I might be able to get down there. 2 hours 44 minutes drive, by google maps...
  7. New FTS The Assessor is top center, the Helfrichi, lower left.
  8. Isn't it though? About 6 weeks ago, Diver's Den had the exact same goby/shrimp pair for sale, and it was gone by the time I opened that e-mail, so this time, I knew I had to move fast. Right now, he's hiding under the PVC pipe in my QT, and as of 4 days, I haven't seen it eat anything. The first night, it did try to jump out of the tank a half-dozen times. Every time I heard him hit the cardboard cap from the tank I've got acting as a lid, I couldn't believe how loud it was. I still haven't decided on a name for it or the Helfrichi, though. The Blue Assessor is Max, though. He likes to do Immelmanns in front of the return grates, which is pretty kick-@$$.
  9. Both the Assessor and the Firefish are active in the DT, moreso than I'd actually expected. Both are eating well, brine, mysis and pellets, and the Helfrichi likes cyclopeeze, too. (I'm somewhat surprised the Assessor does not, actually.) I learned that the Mr. Aqua 7.5 Cube actually only holds 6.1 gallons, so these 5 gallon water changes I'm doing in the QT are actually 82%... There's still no hitchhikers aside from some pods, and I keep getting algae in my #2 back chamber. It's actually choked out the chaeto I had, so I'm going to need more. Still absolutely no algae in the display area, the CUC is certainly keeping that in check.
  10. Wow. I need to update this. OK, The Helfrichi made it through QT, no problem, and it was followed through by this guy: Just about a week before the Blue Assessor was due to come out of QT, Diver's Den had exactly what I was looking for next, a Dracula Goby and Randall's Pistol shrimp. With the weekend and the two day maximum delay in shipping, the Assessor only came out of QT 3 days early when these arrived:
  11. It loves the cyclopeeze, and will now eat brine, too.
  12. I tried a little brine in the acclimation box, no joy. I dropped a couple mysis in the QT, no luck. Tomorrow morning, I'll try a little cyclopeez. Hopefully it will eat that, otherwise I need to go find some of that garlic stuff.
  13. Here's a positive development: It's in QT now, only 4 weeks of that to go.
  14. Well, holy cow. I'm actually not working that day... Think the wife will be mad if I leave her at home with the 2YO daughter and new puppy who will be arriving on the 12th?
  15. The CUC arrived from Reef Cleaners today. I asked John not to go overboard, but he still can't count. 4 hermits ordered became 5 arrived alive, 6 small ceriths became like 30, etc. There's 5 nassarius, 6 florida ceriths, 30-something small ceriths, 3 blue-legged hermits, 2 striped-leg hermits, about 20 nerites, 3 limpets and one fuzzy chiton. The chiton is a MACHINE. It doesn't move fast, but it leaves a trail of bare rock behind it and doesn't eat the coralline algae. I love it.
  16. CUC arrives tomorrow. Good thing, the algae is starting to get thick...
  17. 30 days, and still no hitchhikers aside from algae and bacteria.
  18. The only run scored was in the bottom of the ninth, off an E2. Great game to go see in person. A real pitcher's duel with some great defensive plays on both sides. That is all.
  19. Well... If I'm not working ath the park, I'll try to make it down. (really? autocorrect kills words on me all the time, but "ath" is OK?)
  20. Nah, I was in the store too late this week to make this order. No worries. Slow and steady...
  21. Like Vancouver down south or Eugene down south?
