lol yeah its crazy and im thinking of trying to maybe put it in my apartment that im moving into next week but i dont go until monday to see it for the first time so im for sure taking a tap measure cause my wife is totally down for it as well might have to just do without some furniture in the living room haha

that is so ironic that it just so happens to be you cause i told you that i started with a 125 and went to a 265 and you were like well were just going to stay at a 90gal for awhile and i said thats what everyone says lol im so happy that you have decided to go with a big tank. and me personally i think a bigger tank is easier just because if something goes wrong you have a bigger body of water and it wont hurt ur system as much as to say like a 55gal. but just wait i found a 950gal tank the other day and if i had the spot to put it up i would have already bought it lol

hey toby been reading your post on the rapidled kit and i have been contemplating buying there kit just had a couple questions for you. I have a 265 its 8ft long 30in deep what would you recommend. how many heat sinks do you think i should go with and what lengths? i saw that someone on here had posted that there was a 30in heat sink do you think i could get away with three of those? and how many leds would you go per heatsink? I dont have any coral right now but plan to in the future just done alot of good reading on leds and dont get me wrong i love my halides but the heat that they put out and the electric bill is crazy any advice i would appreciate it thanks.

I have a blue spot and he doesn't bother my inverts at all and as far as I know they are reef safe I haven't started adding coral yet cause we're getting ready to move but ask garret for sure

Oh wow thats a deep tank. and im sure it will look awesome and you will have plenty of swimming area with that big of a foot print for your tank get a ray or two i bought one off of garret over a month ago and he has gotten so big its crazy. and they are so awesome.

Just got done reading all 12 pages and wow I can't wait for the build thread and to see the tank. I just have a few inputs or suggestions if ur tank is longer than 6ft I recommend mp60 I have a 265 and I already have one mp60 and can't wait to get another but my tank is also 8ft long. I just think its better use to only have one of these beasts at each end cause they have to be strategically placed on the end of the tanks cause to high up they cause whirlpools and to low they really mess up your sand bed depending on how tall your tank is so I think if you can just get by with one on each end it's better that way IMO. I really like the design that you want to go with on your aquascaping but you said you want large overhangs not real sure on how large just remember the farther they stick out the more they will keep light from getting to the bottome end of your tank and I know some coral don't require a lot of light but if there is a lot of shaded areas it can kinda of hinder the places where you can put coral. But this was just some things I was thinking about but I'm really excited for you and your build Garret is an awesome dude he has helped me so much with my tank. And on a lighter note I have a purple tang and they are so awesome you will love it if you get one.

I have a 265 gal acrylic tank that needs to be buffed I moving at the first of the month and am tearing everything down and going to put it all in a stock tank while I change a few things on the tank but while it's down I would like to get it buffed is there anyone out there who knows someone that does this or is comfortable in doing it will pay for supply's and labor and I get to learn something thanks for reading

my only fear is that a rubbermaid isnt going to be big enough for 3 yellow tangs, blue hippo,kole tang, purple tang, chevron tang.

Well thank you everyone for the tips Im currently not in a place to we're I can set up a QT tank like I would like so gonna try some wrasses and feed several times a day with garlic and a few other things but thank you for all the advice

Alright everyone I'm in need of some help. My fish are currently experiencing an ich breakout I want to dose my tank with copper but I can't because of my ray and shark. If anyone has a way of holding on to these two for awhile for so I can dose my tank to save my fish I don't have any coral so not worried about that. I just don't have a way of setting up a tank right now. So if anyone could help me I would appreciate it thanks in advance.

Alright everyone here is the deal the stress level in my life right now is threw the roof. My mom cancer has just spread to both sides of her brain i just floaded my house and there is so much going on with planning my moms funeral and helping my dad. So this is what i have for sale i have a 265 acrylic tank that has scratches on it. Its not perfect but looks great. It has two corner overflow boxes and 4 return lines. i also have a 75 gal sump. I have a 6ft ushio fixture with 3 250w halides works awesome. i have a barracuda external pump. i have around 200-250 pounds of rock about the same in sand. comes with stand and hood. for my life stock i have a purple tang, 3 yellow tangs, Kole tang,chevron tang,blue hippo, blue spot sting ray, and a marble cat shark.
