  1. I guess I shouldn't have said i was going to trade it in for something' date=' that's my bad. I'm just going to hang on to it and hope it goes well. Matt, sorry if you caught any crap for this, that was not my intention.[/quote']

If you system is questionable right now you could get someone to 'house' it for the interm. I was having problems with my system and my Acans weren't liking it so i asked MrBret to house my until i could solve my problems. So far they are doing great and i'm getting close to solving my problems. Just my two cents.

  2. From one of you picks it looked like an encrusting monti wasn't extending it polyps either. I have been having a chemical war going on in my tank and when i do a 25% h20 change or run new carbon everything extends better. Is there any coral dying that you haven't seen or do you have any leathers?

  3. Keith, i think that smell is tea tree oil?

I use revive too, it kinda smells like pine-sol, which weirded me out, but it seems to actually make the corals happy. of course, they're closed up in the dip, but they seemed happier than before when they were back in the tank after the dip.

I think the bottle says 5-15 minutes. you can mix it up in a 1 gallon container and just dip the whole rock if you want. it'll probably do some damage to the bacteria/etc on the rock, but not in a way that would actually affect the tank (unless that one rock is 1/2 of the rock in your tank or something).

bummer I can't help you with the bulbs, but i think you'll get it sorted out. I'd still bet the spectrum is a possible issue, a bulb or two would be a good plan. if it were me, I'd probably make one of them an aquablue special from ATI, it is basically full-spectrum, but focuses on the blue end, looks good on my 8-bulb, I'll probably run 2-3 of them on it in the future. The coral plus is doing some of the work of the aquablue special, but I'd probably swap one of them for an aquablue, and maybe one of the actinics for something like this giesemann

sounds like light acclimation isn't the issue

  4. I want to thank MrBret for rescuing my Acans! I am having some sort of chemical warfare in my tank and within 12 hours they started to look like they were going to melt away so i was able to twist MrBret's arm to house them until i got my tank under control. Glad to say they are doing well and the Fading Sunset already has at least two healthy buds.

  5. Alright i have to admit it's hard taking a photo by yourself and measuring, but mine is about .5cm shorter then this pic. My system is a 90 gallon corner tank dosing Alk, Ca and Mg. Currently running a Ice Cap 250 MH with 4 39w T5 (hoping to have my 55 light LED built in next two weeks) and Reef Octopus skimmer. The system in run on a Apex lite and will hook my LED up to dimmable switches to run off the Apex. The frag is currently about 16" from lights.

  6. Sorry for the delay with posting mine and too bad there is all this drama with them. Mine is Fading Sunset and it's a decent size and doing well. The color is better in real life but the orange in the center is no where near the original pics. Hopefully they will color up after recovering from the trauma.

PS: If we all get 6-8 frags in a year, I have paid a lot more for much less!
