SPS Growth
in SPS
I got an extra bottle...I have played around with elos and the zeovit amino acids. I ran out of the zeovit one so I'm using the Elos until I order some more.
Your getting good colors brad, keep up the good work.

Nice colony man I would buy this in a heart beat but I have to many yellow acros already..

What are you talking about???
There another led fixture.

Frank I'm not sure where you are seeing that the LEDs have a broad spectrum? They allow you to pick from about 15 bins of bridgelux LEDs from warm white all the way thru greens, reds, violets, and blues. The guys on RC have had countless fixtures built with different color combos and have sort of a map to go by. Having the ability to place them on two separate channels also allows you to dim the colors to your liking if you wish.
The do have prebuilt formulas which range from 10-14k because you can dim one color independently if you wish to, I think that is where you are confused.
The more I read about these units the more I am impressed. Yes the service does come from China but there was a flaw found with the IT2040 units as they are pretty new. The time was advancing a few minutes a day on the controller, not a fatal flaw but annoying none the less. The manufacturer had new LCDs made and has shipped them to all those affected. The insides of the IT units are all modular with plugs so it was an easy unplug and plug the new one in. Also, the way the units are wired allows you to swap out LEDs by just unsoldering one and soldering in a new one. The forward voltage of the LEDs don't have to match so you can buy extra bridgelux leds for cheap and swap out different colors until you are satisfied with the color.
I'm willing to be a guinea pig on these with the price it is a no brainer.
Mike
You could always try the Eco lamps...lol

Frank the pictures don't do your tank credit. Sorry to hear about the crack but its great you caught it and have time to redesign. I'm on your end on the 28th of this month (road trip) so I'll PM you a week out and see if your around. Can't wait to see you new layout though. Take care and Keep Reefin!
This is his new tank. Did you read the thread?

I think its been that way for decades, the choice is with or without crisco

Filled mine out last night. Really felt like having to choose between being shot in the hand or the foot. Either is gonna hurt like %$#@' date=' and life is never going to be the same afterwards.[/quote']
A lot of people feel the same way...your not alone
-
Yes his LEDs really help with shimmer and depth.

Yes sure did

Did you check out the forums? The results speak for themselves. You need to dedicate a lot of time and effort and follow the directions accordinhly. In just about every thing in this hobby there will be failures. I would say me personally have never seen people achieve the vibrant colors associated with zeovit with out it.
-
Zeovit is a bacteria/carbon driven system that uses color tweaking additives to enhance the tissue color of Sps.
-
There are so many amazing zeovite tanks it would be hard to pick one. I woul say Thomas phol tank is the top 5. I have never ever seen sps colors that great since I started this hobby.
-
For those of you who are like me and love looking through nice build threads, I'm posting a link to the zeovit forum build section. Feel free to check out the main forum as well, it has lots of useful info and maybe some who are interested in zeo might be beneficial. zeovit is from germany so most of the people are from different parts of the world.

Wow mark your getting out of the hobby? If you ever decided you want back in I have a ton of Sps I can frag and get you started.
-
I saw that milli last time I was there. If I didn't have one that was the same Color I would have bought it.
-
Are you giving up on Sps?
-
Great looking tank. The new rock looks a lot better.
-
Figured you would say that. Calcium rectors can be a pain in the *** sometimes.
-
Great job as always!
-
Let me start by saying your tank has come along way and looks great after the new rock scape. The shaded spots are not bad unless it personally bothers you. It's sometimes nice to have lower lit areas for lower lighting corals. Lowering the pendent will only cause more shaded areas since the lower the less spread. I personally wouldn't change a thing, if you want more spread you can upgrade your pendent or add an additional pendent.

Wow very cool. Did you car pool anyone?
