You have one radion over a 60 gal? How's the spread? People are using 3 radion over 48" tanks.

They say on rimless tanks its wise to use foam since there's no black plastic brace around the bottom of the tank but I think that's just for glass not sure.

I wouldn't say it lowers your alk. If you took some gfo and put it in a bucket of saltwater would the alk in the bucket lower? No there have been experiments about that. The thing you might be seeing is that when you po4 and nitrates start to lower the corals can consume the alk more then with elevated levels of nutrients.

I have trouble with the API KH test kit, every time its get down to the last bit it starts to read off. Calcium at 420 should be just fine though.
