Thanks to both of you. I'd love a little piece.

Wow' date=' I just scrubbed mine up with a toothbrush to remove a small patch of algae and it only closed up for a day. Need a small frag of toothbrush-proof GSP?[/quote']
I'd love one. If you can tell me how to do it I'll frag a piece of frogspawn ,which is obviously very hardy .

I killed one too (scratch) Also a Xenia . I felt like I killed a dandalion :(
Too funny. At least that made me laugh about it. I'm going to tell my husband it was a very sensitive coral (whistle)

Yep. Trust me to kill something considered a weed by some. Not sure what happened but it just stopped blooming and then started to melt away. My other corals look just like normal (scratch)

I appreciate the input! I'm hoping to get the lights up tonight and will post pics later

When I had a solana I ran a sapphire aquatics skimmer. That thing ROCKED for it size and was very quiet. I'll second the advice to ditch the ATO bottles and run a proper switch with a remote ATO reservoir. I use the same switch as Grassi with no problems at all.
Sounds like they were great little skimmers but they don't make them anymore . Bummer.

Thanks.I like the look of the double switch unit. Hoping I can modify the skimmer somehow to make it work for a while.

Hi there
I'm finally to the point of setting up my Solana. I've had sand in it for a month with some live rock and a hang on the side filter to clear things up. My foam background is ready and I'm planning on taking out 3/4 of the water to silicone the background onto the tank. I tried out the custom skimmer and the pump was rather noisy. Any good tips on setting it up. I'm putting live rock rubble in the middle chamber and bought filter floss for the intake chamber. The ATO bottles did not come with the tank. Any ideas other than a float switch at this point?
Thanks in advance.

If its on the web cam its a Bamboo plant sitting on the ledge next to the tank, Not sure in the pictures but no Seaweed in the tank
That's too funny. No wonder I was confused. I'd never seen such a pretty seaweed before

That is a wonderful tank! What is the green plant/ seaweed in the corner? Looks pretty.
Who knew someone could kill GSP

If I ever do kill a Xenia or Kenya Tree I'll be to embarrassed to fess up. I'm afraid I'm going to get a bad rep.
