  1. Ok so do you think a coding illiterate such as myself would be able to use this bad boy?
  2. Hey guys, thought since I had been picking your brains lately I should at least go through the formality of saying howdy. Me and my wife have been in the hobby since we were first married, good lord 20 years ago. We started with a 29 gal fish only system and later moved up to a 55 gal LPS tank. We loved it but as we were young and strapped for budget we mickey moused many of the systems and always struggled with keeping things just right. With some work changes and travelling we were forced to give away our stock and put our hobby on hold. Our daughters FOWLR tank rekindled our passion and with our lives back to a stable place we have begun the undertaking of a new reef. Doing it the right way this time. I appreciate all your help. You guys have been such a wealth of help to us and I look forward to a lengthy partnership with you all. I hope to someday learn enough to pass it on to the next group of noobs. (laugh)
  3. Thanks man I'd appreciate that
  4. Yep me again. Thinking about grabbing an RO/DI for my tank. Whats your thoughts? And any idea what a good set up would be. Saw a few on ebay that looked good but thought I would ask the knowledge base what they thought. Thanks again guys.
  5. Garrett thanks again for all your help. I am sure I will be visiting you often. I am putting together a shopping list to hit you up for. (whistle) Family loved the shop also and my daughter was pumped about her new fish. Thanks again.
  6. Brad hooked me up. Thanks for all the help guys. Now for all the accessories. LOL
  7. I'm liking your tank Reefnjunkie. PM sent.
  8. Unfortunately, the problem with getting great help is that you often find you want more. LOL. Wife decided that 40-50 would be too cramped and wants to go 55-75 now. And thanks for hooking me up with Garrett. He sounds very knowledgeable and I'm sure he is going to be a great help.
  9. Hey guys, looking to buy a 55-75g tank to start up. Pre-drilled would also be wonderful. If you know anyone looking to part with a tank let me know. Thanks again for all your help. edit* purchased Reefn's tank. Thanks for all the offers guys. Mods can close this thread if they like.
  10. Thanks for the great ideas guys. I have been nervous to buy used only because I wasnt sure what kind of shape the gear would be in or what parasites would come with them. But I will check those sources and see what I can find. I shot Garrett an email to see what he has, hopefully he can help me out. Thanks again guys.
  11. Beauty. I think I am good on the stand, just need the rest of the stuff. I'd like to get a good tank with overflow and stuff. I have been in Upscales to check prices, not to sound cranky, they are a bit expensive. I have been out of the market for awhile so am not quite sure what stores are around. I want to do it right this time and get a nice tank with good lights for whatever I decide to do. Thanks for the info.
  12. Hey all. I am new to this forum but not totally new to saltwater tanks. I have had tanks in the past that unfortunately due to life changes I have had to give away. I am now in a more permanent arrangement and am looking to restart my hobby. I am trying to find a good place to get a saltwater setup ie. tank, lights, filters, etc. Never been confident enough to do frags and such, but love softies and fish tanks. If you guys could point me in the right direction to get a good 40-50 gallon setup to reignite my passion, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance for your help. Also I am in the Tigard/Tualatin area.
