  1. Ive had it for a few months now, maybe 5 been doing good, but pretty seclusive. I pulled him out of the main display tank after I added some potters wrasse and it started chasing the wrasse and my clown around pretty bad. Probably just a territory thing. Poor clown made the long jump though. Currently been in my biocube 29 by itself, which is basically a quantine at this point. Way too small for him. I'd like to trade for something or just sell. 40 bucks, or some soft coral. live rock, cool reef safe wrasse or small angel. lemme know what you have.
  2. I wanted to get this awhile back, but got stuck working a month of 12 hour shifts straight, I can pick this up tomorrow afternoon. pm me your number and I'll text ya when I get up, probably noonish. Really need the skimmer, as my pump on mine took a crap.
  3. I think im gonna ditch my biocube and setup a 70g, I have everything but a return pump, just looking for something that works. dont wanna spend much money because I probably wont even put anything in it for awhile. If you have something laying around thats worth using let me know.
  4. ugh, I want some but im working too much right now, I just lost my last frag the other day. Dang pearly jawfish covered it up the other night and I didnt notice -_-
  5. My eshopps psl75 pump took a dump on me. FOr the prioce of a replacement, im thinking about just finding a better skimmer. I wasnt very happy with the skimmer to begin with. Who is making a good skimmer for a 75 to 100g tank right now. I want a low maintenence skimmer. not something thats gonna overflow or underflow half the time. I've been buying used forever, but im thinking I may go new on a skimmer for once.
  6. THanks for the reply. I found a pretty good list of easy to keeps on reef central. I may give some a try.
  7. yeah, it doesnt fit too bad in this cheap setup I have. I will probably build a hood in the next month or 2, whenevr i get more time off work.
  8. I've been tossing around the idea of doing some sps. My main problem is I travel 6 months oiut of the year and have my brother take care of the tank while I'm gone. Right now I keep it real simple, a skimmer, 250wx2 mh and now vho 03 and 454 sup. I'm curious whats out there iun the digital market for monitoring the big parameters for sps like alk calcium etc.. I've also been contemplating dosing pumps over a reactor, as it seems easier to dial in. It may just be a bad idea, but I would like to have a few easier to keep monti's, maybe a pink birds nest. Tell me I should just stick to softies lol.
  9. The same place he was at before he went to the big warehouse? Glad they are still around.
  10. Before I bother ordering online, I'd like to know if there are any lfs locally in the portland salem area that carry 48" vho. preferably 454 and siuper actinic. I decided to go a bit oldschool on my 75g and am very happy with the results. I just need to buy some new bulbs.
  11. 400 is a bit much for my 75, but im interested. WHat do you want for it? shoot me a pm/ Shaun
  12. It's a shot in the dark, but maybe someone around here has a old vho with metal halide fixture laying around that will fit a 48" tank I wanna take it old school
  13. I'm looking for 250w metal halide mogul based pendants and ballasts.
  14. Maybe I will tear into the case and look tomorrow. Is there more than one type of de bulb?
  15. Time will tell I suppose. I swear I use to have one just like this but about twice as big. Makes me wonder
  16. to me it doesnt really have a fairy wrasse build, more along the lines of the mystery wrasse genius whatever that is
  17. I picked up a used cheap dual 250w de mh light setup that I decided to try over my dual 400w se setup. Anyhow, picked up some cheap ebay bulbs to try out. They will not fire on this unit for some reason. The original lamps fire right now still. I'm a bit confused, but I thought there was basically only one style ballast for the de bulbs. Maybe because my ballasts are digital? I thought they all used a m70 style.
  18. I really dont have a clue on what this little bugger is. Has some interesting lines on the face, plus the fake eye on the tail. Reminds me a little of a rhomboid but colors are all off. What do you all think she is? I'll try to get a better pic later, but she is a shy bugger and doesnt stay still long.
  19. My experience with flake is its usually full of phosphates. Ive had better color from mysis with kent garlic than i ever did with say ocean marine flake.
  20. I cant see the fish starving to death frankly. THe blenny was the only one who started looking skinny, and he was eating fine. The blue star was never skinny. The flame angle looked fine as well. putting it all together it seems like I introduced something with the angle. Yeah I dont plan on adding any fish to the tank anytime soon. I'm about to setup a 75g again anyways, Maybe I will use the biocube as a future quarantine tank.
  21. Any leopards are amazing if you have a sand bed, 4 lines are beautiful but can get mean with other wrasse, same with 6, rhomboiuds are awesome male flame wrasse are nice, depends on the amount you wanna spend, leopards have zero aggression, basically the whole family which includes potters etc... Mystery wrasse are a good one, but can be a little mean against other wrasse of the same general shape. I always liked the Soloriensis Fairy Wrasse is a fav of mine and usually very docile. Most wrasses will not bother other fish really. It's getting them to play nice with other wrasses than can be the issue. the last 75 I ran was heavy into wrasses. 3 blue star, 4 line, mystery, soloriensis, small 6 line, and probably another 1 or 2 I cant think of at the moment. They leopards never bothered anyone, but the mystery and 4 line could be mean towards the soloriensis, but it was big enough to where they didnt bug him too much. Avoid bigger wrasses as they become less reef safe. I rememebr one day after adding my 6" radiant wrasse that my cleaner shrimp had become very reclusive. A few days later I see him swimming around with cleaner shrimp antenna sticking about a inch out of his mouth lol. To the sump he went.
