So I have a 29g African cichlid tank that I'm going to turn into a FOWLR tank because I have these two beautiful peacock cichlids that fight and jump a lot. The tank is in my bedroom and this has caused me to lose many an hour of sleep. It's time for these guys to go. So I'm just looking for some suggestions for this. Some good cool fish, filtration.. That kind of stuff. I've only ever done reef tanks and I'm fairly new to that as well so any info offered up would be great.

I like the bath tub idea. I don't however, have anything to soak them in. Perhaps I'll try to talk my brother into doing a batch at his house. He hates practically all the rock in his 29g reef. I'm trying to get him to check out the boards here as he knows less then I do about this stuff.(laugh)

well I've look a little bit into the DIY rock and it seems like a great idea and I figure that after algae growth it will nearly look just like real LR. I'm just not so sure I'd be able to work with the cement in my apartment .... ?

that's lame. I've had 2 red ring. however on the second time Microsoft accidentally sent me 2 by mistake. I gave it to my brother for Christmas heh. my (other) brother said that Fable 3 has been very glitchy for him.

Fable 3 came out a few days ago. I heard it was pretty cool. I'm waiting for fallout to get patched a bit before I pick it up after hearing of many bugs. ok no problem. like I said I'm not even sure I want to sell it though, I would have for a reasonable offer to make my tank nicer heh.

you would think so... however here we are. I'm like 99% certain looks the same and price seems right. DOH! it's a good light just didn't have very good coverage on my 55g

I used to play WoW. but I do also play pc games. I'm currently playing the witcher and just downloaded metro 2033 off steam

my gamertag is bacemaster I don play MW and MW 2 though currently my brother is borrowing my copy of MW2 because his son ruined his copy, and my psn in pretabace ...I think my ps3 doesn't see to much game time right now. I've been playing pc games lately feel free to add me on either. I'd be curious if there are any other "retro" gamers out there (nes, snes, sega genesis ... that kind of stuff)

I've heard of people putting pictures of clowns hosting on your tank (here I think and other boards) to help them learn the behavior. Seems silly to me however I'm giving it a try with my torches. I plan on getting an anemone in a few months but it couldn't hurt to try right?

so I'm new around here and curious who here shares similar interests as I. Any one here into gaming? I've been a gamer sense I was little starting with the NES. I currently own most consoles that have been released till now and have hundreds of games. also on a side note I used to play in metal bands as a bass player (S/N bace .. get it heh) anyone in here into metal or play guitar or other instruments? I play a few other things as well.

well the 29g tank was up close to a year when I tried it. the 55 was put together with all the sand, rock, filters and water. it has been running now for probably a month or two (I think... forgot when I did it but it's growing some coralline algae on the back wall) the light on the 29 was a 150w halide. the light on the 55 is a '48 Inch 4x54 Watt AquaticLife T5 HO Light Fixture W/ 4 Lunar LEDs' which I believe should be ok for a nem. I will check out those sites when I get some time. as I've said I've sworn off of them for a while. I felt horrible when I lost my last one. plus it wasn't free...(sad)

so when I had my reef in a 30g tank I had a BTA the seemed to do fairly well... until it found it's way into a power head (sad) now is there any advise that I could get on how to have this not happen? this event made me switch to my 55 as my reef (was African cichlids. now in the 30) and also sworn off of anemones until I get some ideas on how to keep them alive.
