  1. well just split the culture. starting again, hope i have done what i needed, so all is good and my harvested phyto is good to use.

dont really know how to tell if it crashed or went bad. i dont think i had any issues.

    fingers crossed.

Color will change from that nice bright green to a greenish brown. Greenish brown is bad or any kind of green that's not that bright one. When it is ready to harvest it will be a dark version of the green it is now and you wont be able to see through it at all.

  2. who to find iTrader? i will leave you a good feedback' date=' LoL.[/quote']

Oh I don't need good feed back I have lots....but than again good feed back is always welcome. We need to see when members are having bad experiences too. When I go to trade or buy from someone I haven't trade w/ before I check their threads to see if they are an active member or just here to sell things. Next I check our itrader. Being able to do this allows all of us to be informed about who we are doing business w/. This is for all of us and just as important is protecting the newer members. How are they going to know anything about us if we don't use this amazing tool.

  3. I would like to take a min. to remind everyone we have iTrader....This is our way of protecting each other and being able to research who we're buying from before we buy. It only takes a second and it doesn't even need to be detailed. REMEMBER to give feed back please.

  4. What Kimberlee is talking about is I have a 3 piece set of solid chestnut table that were my moms' they are about 45 years old And I just had them refinished' date=' So as I said in my org. post that I wanted the stands to match them (thanks mom you are sorely missed)[/quote']

Great tribute and sorry I've been a little behind lately...

  5. thinking around 2? 3? somewhere in there. gotta give the ex and his girlfriend a chance to wake up before I show (:

WOW! your a great ex, I think I would be there at 5am, just to be as mean as I could. Good luck w/ the move, and I have my fingers crossed for happy livestock on the other side.

  6. The Garf I got from Jonboy when he broke his tank down and I didn't ask where he got it from. It looks a lot like the Bali Tricolor I just got from the group buy you did

The Jedi is a more fun traveled path :). I got it from MattV who got it from Matt (aquariansaltwater) who I'm pretty sure got it from Jake (Jab) when he broke his tank down because I got a small piece too. Jake most likely got it from Isaac of the Coral Mafia as he got most of his corals from him and if that's the case there is a good chance it is the Tyree piece. I can't label it as such as this is all a mere trail of circumstantial evidence :)/

Any one ever thought of registering and papering the corals? There'd be no question on lineage than. We could have coral shows and travel a circuit, which I'm sure is already happening.

  7. No cycle, nothing was disturbed more then it would be with a large waterchange. My rock and sand stayed in place. A 40g won't be that heavy. Probably less then 500lbs with water. Take half the water our and two semi fit guys should be able to move it a few feet without to much trouble. JME

Like I said, I moved my 65g by myself.

Cool bean...I'm sure everyone here can understand not wanting to move their tank, after watching grow and mature. Thx guys

  8. I had to move my 65g 5 feet to the left. I drained most of the water' date=' left the rock in place, and just picked the thing up and moved it, by myself. Had to have been less then 300 lbs at that point. Not to tough[/quote']

What about cycling again and after effects of disturbing the tank? I think that is becoming the bigger concern.

  9. Just make sure not to bump any plumbing that's not secured in place' date=' I learned that the hard way on a 40b[/quote']

LC Scott and my hubby both have concerns about the stand buckling, if we do it this way. It's not that it's not sound, they just don't have confidence in work that's not theirs. As for the plumbing it is all hose and can be dealt w/ easily.

  10. Okay I am pissed right now about this so.......6 months ago I noticed a discolored spot in the ceiling above my tank. I called my landlord and he assured me that it was all fine and dandy. A week ago it started leaking while my kid was in the shower. My landlord got the late night call and was here the next day. He tore out dry wall, checked everything, and we found nothing. The next step is cutting out the hole, which is to the right of the tank. Like an inch to the right. It is apparent that he will need more room than that to work, and despite my irritation my hubby is insisting that we move the tank so the work can be done. I hate it when he's right, but man is he right on this one. Anyway I am concerned about going through a mini cycle. LC Scott had this happen when he moved his tank here.

I need all the advice I can get on how to make this happen w/ little impact on the tank, and possibly the loan of a 55gal drum.

Thx in advance everyone this has really got me all worked up. (My point being, it should have been handled 6 months ago.)

  11. isnt this in effect a sponge filter that would create some nitrates as stated earlier? Is there something in the biological process that removes the nitrates developed by the filter in the filter? Only time will tell.Looks like its a trip to the dollar store :)

What bothers me about this is they don't tell you what this thing is made out of.
