  7. Sorry for not responding to any of your posts...I forgot this was even up. I was told they were Yuma's...however I'm probably misinformed and you are probably right that they are giant hairy shrooms...however, there is no blue on them. They are Pink and green...I have a crap camera. It messes with the color. I'll frag one off and take it in to West Side and ask Tim what the heck it is. I'll post back up here in a day or two...I have a couple tanks to move before I can post again. Thanks for the info guys. Matt Aquarian Saltwater LLC

  12. I can tell you all the secret for these guys...I had some myself. They are very closely related to the purple tilefish. You MUST keep them in groups of 3 or more. They are social eaters. I bought three at one time. I didn't lose a single one. When they are excited or scared or really happy (eating) they flash many different colors. When they are calm they are this really cool purplish blueish irridescent color with yellow edged fins. I started out feeding mine Cuclop-eeze and then transitioned them to meatier frozen foods and herbivore foods. Mine all shared the same cave in the tank and after a couple weeks of being in the tank became quite social and were out in the front of the tank most of the time. They are amazing little creatures. They do not handle high water temperatures well. That's how I lost mine. My roomate decided to turn the air off on a 100 degree day and the tank got up to 82 degrees F. I lost all three that day. They do great up to about 78F though. I keep my tanks at 74F usually, unless I have a species specific tank that has special requirements. I lost many many other fish that same day, so I know that is the reason I lost the Flashing Tile Gobies. Unfortunately. They were quite entertaining to watch. I Nicknamed then the LSD Gobies. =0) If you have a well established tank with a good six months or more of track record and a deep enough pocketbook to swing getting THREE or MORE of them...then by all means do it. You will not be disappointed. Matt
  13. This is a Royal Pencil Wrasse (Pseudojuloides Severnsi) First picture. Asking $50. I found them online for $40-45 for fish that are 2-3". This guy is 4"+. He eats everything and is a pretty cool fish. Great colors on him. He's currently in with a mated pair of black ocellaris clowns and a blue hippo tang. He leaves my hermits and shrimp alone. He's pretty cool. He eats anything you put in the tank too...from frozen to pellet. The picture is not of our fish...ours has slightly more pink in his mask. I like our fishes' coloration better. Very close to picture however. I also have a Twin Spot Coris Wrasse (Coris Aygula) second Picture. These sell for around $65 on the sites for 2-3" fish. Mine is 4.5"+. $60. Great looking fish. *SOLD* Finally I have a mated pair of Black Ocellaris Clownfish. I WILL NOT SEPERATE THE CLOWNFISH FROM ONE ANOTHER...DO NOT ASK. $125 Firm. *SOLD* Matt
  14. Here are a few easy steps that you can take to alleviate some of your cyano issues. Feed your tank regularly for a few days leading up to this. Take a piece of airline and use it to create a siphon. Vacuum as much cyano off the surface of things as is easy to get to. Continue this with the removal and changing out of approximately 25% of your water. You can then cover your tank completely with a large towl, blanket etc. Leave it covered for 2 days. DO NOT PEEK. The cyano is partially photo synthetic. This will help to kill off the majority of the cyano. What is left over will be mostly dead. Things that cause cyano are as follows: 1) As was stated earlier, overfeeding the tank causes high phosphate/nitrate/nitrite levels, all of wich 'feed' the cyano. 2) Running your lights for too long. It is photo synthetic and the more light it has the more it will grow. Cutting your full lighting back by even an hour or two a day can drastically reduce the reproduction of the cyano bacteria. 3) Water flow is important. Especially at the surface of the water. Agitating the surface of the water helps oxygenate teh water. This helps the good bacteria eliminate many of the harmful phosphates, nitrates, and mitrites. Agitating the surface of the water also changes the way the light functions on the photo-synthetic process slowing the growth rate of the cyano. 4) RO/DI water...The filtration process removes many of the nitrates and mitrites naturally present in the water. 5) Good Filtration/skimming. Just another step in removing those nasty unwanted nitrates/nitrites/phosphates. 6) Here's one not a lot of people talk about. When you thaw your frozen fish food. Rinse it with RO water. There is often a lot of extra nitrite and nitrate present in the frozen fluids your foods are packed/frozen in. 7) Plants and natural Algaes. These help by eating those same nitrites and nitrates as food. Therefore removing the food source for cyano. I hope these tips help you with your cyano issues. I had a small 10 gallon Reef tank that had a bad outbreak of cyano when I was first learning about reefing. It was due to the Nitrates in the food I was feeding the tank. The thing that worked best for me was to vacuum the rocks and sand off and cover the tank for two days. After that all I had left was a small trace of dead black stuff that was easily removed with air hose and a toothbrush. Good Luck. Matt
  15. Skimmer is an ETSS...not sure the model. There is no pump, but the skimmer has never been used. It is a larger one rated for 275 or so gallons I believe...don't hold me to that though. It's rather large. About 6" diameter chamber and is about 23 inches tall. Has integral bio-ball chamber as well. Matt
  16. Tank Measures 96" long, 13" deep, and 22" tall (just the glass) I don't have the height of the entire tank on the stand, I will try to get to the garage tonight and measure how tall it is including the stand and canopy as well. I will also distinguish the actual stand height and the actual canopy height for you. Matt
