  5. It's a Pacific Coast. It's a great light though. It's agot a metal housing. Really well built. It also has two legs that attach to the ends of the tank and allow the whole unit to flip up. I forgot to post that in the ad. Matt

  9. If you still have the Blue Tort I'll take it. Give me a call...PM sent. How about that Reefit? Does that help you out? Matt
  10. I can get aragonite sand for a pretty good deal. If you want that instead or if Rick doesn't have enough for you. I can get either the fine sugar stuff or the coarse stuff as well. Also, I have a 27 gallon tote in my garage full of used coarse sand that needs to be washed. I'll let the whole thing (about 300-350 lbs) go for $60. This offer is good to anyone out there looking for a crap load of sand. You can either bring buckets or bring back my tote when you get the sand out. either way if you want hte sand. I may have a couple 5 gallon buckets full out there as well I can throw in with it. Matt
  11. reply 2 Not trying to sound irritated here...just clarifying why I do the things I do. =0) Matt
  12. The issue I have with the treatment is that it this... It does kill the present cyano in the tank...great...for a while. It does NOT fix the underlying issues that are causing the cyano in the first place. You need to take the steps to remove the excess phosphates and increase the flow in the proper places to keep the cyano from reoccurring. This isn't a wasted effort. IF it does not cure the cyano fast enough for you or not completely, use the treatment like I said previously. I just don't recommend relying solely on that. I try to set my system up so it doesn't come back. The treatment is expensive. If the cyano keeps coming back...$20 a box (wich treats 300 gallons) gets expensive real fast. So why not take a little time and set it up so you only have to spend the money one time...or not at all??? Matt
  13. There are several preventative measures you can take as well. I'm not a big proponent of the treatments. Cyano feeds on phosphates in the water, so some phosphate remover in your overflow sock or in a bag in your filtration system will help remove it's food source so that it can't grow back. Also, turning the lights off won't do the whold job. Cover the tank with a dark sheet or towel to block out the natural sunlight as well. Another thing to do is to place one or two powerheads...depending on tank size...up high in the tank to agitate the surface of the water. This changes the way the light acts in the tank and helps slow the growth as well. Also, if you feed frozen food, rinse it with RO water after it is thawed out. There are a lot of nitrates and other stuff in the fluid the food is frozen in. Make sure you use a vacuum tube to suck as much as you can out of the tank before you cover the tank. Leave it covered for 2 or 3 days. Your fish should be fine unless you have something like a mandarin. If you do turn the light on just long enough to feed and kill it again. After you take these steps it should die off pretty well and you should be able to keep the stuff from growing back so fast if at all. Matt
  14. What have you done to feed your addiction...err...hobby needs!?! Here are a couple shots of my latest conquest before removal from the transport vehicle. I've also brought home entire tank setups on Tri-Met...It's really funny to see people's faces when you board a bus with a tank and accessories. Post your favorite pic/story of how you fed your hobby needs. Matt
  15. I have a 15 gallon nano tank for sale. Comes complete as seen in phot plus I have two bins with some random live rock that I will let you take about 15 pounds of with purchase of tank. Tank comes with the stand it sits on. Has no light. It had a pendant halide over it, but I used that over my cube tank build so it is NOT available. Thanks for looking. Asking $100 for the tank, stand, modified filtration with skimmer and refugium area and the live rock prefiously mentioned. Call Matt at 503-737-9540 if interested. Thanks for looking.
  16. Sold it...thanks for looking. Matt
  17. SOLD...thanks for looking...
  18. Here's a couple shots of the sump...It has a built in refugium chamber. It's really nice. It uses a 7" sock as well.
  19. Thanks man...I'll get photos of the 150 for you as soon as it is up...we're waiting on furniture. Can't decide what to do for it.
  20. If I can get it sold today or tomorrow, I will let the whole thing with the sump go for $525. I want it gone. =0)
  21. The stand is 74"x17"x33" on the outside. Inside cabin measures 69.5"x14.5"x28.5". The canopy is the same exterior dimesions with a height of 12" instead of 33" and an internal height of 10.5". Matt
  22. There are a few...should be an easy buff though. Matt
  23. I have a 100 gallon Envision aquarium with stand and matching canopy for sale. The tank measures 72" long, 16" deep and 20" tall. I have brand new hinges for the cabinet doors (still in bags). They just need to be thrown on and adjusted. They come with the tank. No sump. I do have one that will work for this tank, but I want more with the sump I have. Asking $500 for the tank with canopy and stand, or $650 with sump. If someone makes me a somewhat reasonable offer I would probably take it...I really want this thing gone...Hit me up. I'd like what I'm asking...I'd like it gone even omore. If you catch my drift... Canopy has three doors on front that flip up and the top also flips up (pic 2) Call Matt at 503-737-9540 if interested.
  24. Here are some shots of the tank with live rock in it. I will be moving corals in shortly. Hope you all like the pics. First shot is of the front corner, second is of the side, and last is of the face. Matt.
  25. I've got three Galaxy switchable ballasts from Sun Light. I have them all burning 250w moguls in Lumen Max Elite reflectors. I originally bought Elos 250w bulbs, but they were WAY too bright for this tank. I also wanted more blue in the coloration of the bulb, so I switched to Artemis 250w 20k bulbs. I got just about perfect light with these for the tank. I actually have to put some of my LPS in the shadows to protect them still. In your 175 you have about six inches more depth before the bottom of your tank...it should be perfect for that tank. I'll stick photos up tomorrow...
