That looks like either a chiton or a limpit to me. Under the "skin" (mantle) is there a hard shell? If you poke it does it seem hard or soft? If it is hard, is there only one shell with a hole in the top like a volcano, or is it more like several (usually 8) different, overlaping plates. If it is only one shell, then it is a limpit, if it has 8 overlaping plates then it is a chiton. There may be some other options, but it is not a sea hare, and it is not a nudibranch

It has soft skin that covers a hard body and when its at rest its back opens up and its shows the hard bone color underneth (lungs?) also its frilly about the edges and has somewhat frilly anttenae and moves about like a slug or snail

This guy/gal is ALL JET BLACK and I think it is a nudi I really want another 1-2 he is great. My mother has brought me totally coverd (in hair) coral and this guy has them back to former glory the very next morning. Even cleans aptasia (as if I care) without spreading them. Thought he was gonna eat it the first time I saw it but no just plowed him over like he does to coral (without disturbance) within 2-3 minutes clean as a whistle. I have scoured the net looking for an ID or a seller for about 3 months and no luck.

And I will definitly take the 1hr 22min drive again well worth the trip and gas was way cheaper there too.

I have an unidentified one that is fully jet black and he also loves algae he has been in the tank a couple years as far as I know the guy I bought thr tank from didnt know where he came from he just appeared and has been there a long time if anybody knows what he is and where to get another please let me know here are a few pics

VERY SAD!!! but a thief of this caliber probably has no conses so it wont bother them until karma steps in and unfortunately you probably wont see it so your right by moving on if things are not returned.But on another note don't stop trusting just be more aware that there are low life's out there.And folks don't stop sharing something you love with others because of one dirt bag.

someone read this thread and offerd me a little 1g tank with 9 LED lights at first I thought I would take it off and put it on the .8g but I think I will continue with building the .8g the way I planned and build the 1g with an all in one aproach behind the overflow w/o a skimmer. I need to make some money first before I can finish the .8g or start the 1g

I think the copper is a good idea, except that it would harm a lot of the animals that we care about. That would not be acceptable.

I've had a very sneaky theif for about 6 months now I even set up a camera to catch whoever it is but, it was stolen. The very first thing they took was a SD card with our familys vacation pics from last summer. I hadnt backed them up yet. So I feel the loss of stolen memories.

The polyp will prob find a spot and attach it self (I have this one that got lost for a few weeks and one morning it was stuck to a rock near the top not sure how it got there with all that current) if you find the candy cane I have some epoxy that set underwater and is safe to use that you can use like chewing gum to attach it back where you had it. (it works better then super glue sometimes not as pretty though.

now if I could only trade for membership I'd be set.
