the black box is a wet dry. it has a sponge on top and full of bio balls. i got all excited to hook this thing up to my 30 but i was already in the middle of building a sump for it. stopped by the LFS and decided they could use this thing more than i could, so i will be dropping it off to them tomorrow. thanks for all the input, but i think i am just going to go with my original plan. i will say though, it is always fun to get a new piece of equipment for free and try to figure out where and how to use it. thanks again

just an idea on how heavy they are. i have 2 of those in my collection and the first one we put in had 150 pounds of sand in it and we moved it and put it on a 40 inch high stand with three guys. the second one was empty and my 16 year old son and i moved it all the way through the house and lifted it on to a 36 inch high stand. they really aren't that bad to move, just a little awkward

well, the first part of the experiment was a success. i have wired the ballast for 120v and split the case to move the mogal about 8 feet from the case. it fired right up and is running as i type. so i have a 400w metal halide that is running in my shop. the next step is to build an enclosure for the bulb so i can get rid of the ugly dome hanging from it now.

That's what we were thinking. We have it in our tank with two camel shrimp that are fully colored. Just cant understand why this little shrimp has no color.

All the joints have orange spots and he is striped.

Can anyone ID this shrimp? (scratch)
