  1. Cool little tank:)

Did you try the hydra over the nano? I’m only using one prime, which does ok, but have been contemplating upgrading to the hydra. I like how bright your tank is from edge to edge.

you should move the heater to the back compartment, they are just an eyesore out front. The chamber next to the filter sock chamber is where i have mine.

  2. What a great sale It was! Thanks for the swag bag with a gift card! Well worth the wait in line:)

As usual, garret had primo stuff for sale at great prices.

I played the grab bag game too, seemed like a pretty good bet. I ended up with 3 new corals...some nice paly’s, a nice little mini colony of tort of some sort, and a big old toadstool. That was pretty fun, he made me wait til i got home to open the corals...i tried really hard bot to peek.

Heres a bad pic of the sps...my first of the tank...well ok, 2nd, but definitely gonna be the most tempermental:) gonna have to stay on my toes now:)

Been a while since i handled sps...snapped off one of the tips carelessly:) but now i have a frag i suppose;)

If you havent been to Garrets in a while, do yourself a favor and go check it out. Lots of new tanks.

My only complaint was all you reef people were jamming everything up, place was oacked to the gills...jabbering on and on about how your peppermint shrimp just had babies. Hahahahaha

  3. Best books for beginners, and advanced reefers alike:
The Reef Aquarium, Vol. 3: Science, Art, and Technology

By Julian Sprung and Charles Delbeek.

Seriously only book you need. May be a little spendy, but it’s a book that holds it’s value really well...for good reason.

I give it until Mid February (16) until he puts up another tank.

By then Jorge will be selling his and upgrading to a bigger tank.

Ron will have accumulated 6 new tanks and sold 2 and traded one for a limited edition JF hype acro.

R-3 will also be getting out of the hobby only to return 2 weeks later when he stops at Cuttlefish for the deal of a lifetime and Jorge and Shane do another BOGO sale.

Stay tuned until next week on As The Reef Tank Turns.

HAHAHA, Nailed it! Although you forgot to include yourself in this breakdown....because by then you will probably have a bathroom tank, bedroom tank, and upgrading to a potential porch tank.,

Oh, and you didn't even know I have two new tanks...hahahaha leave me out of this! I know I have a problem:)

  5. You have that poor SPS squashed in between an RBTA(I know it moved there), and a blastomussa. Both can kill the red planet. Sure maybe it's par, but I would move it, especially since it not encrusted too much .

My red planets would usually have a green tint to them in the lowest light for sure....alot of planets will show a green belly for this reason, light doesnt hit the underside.

  6.

Trying to auction ALL your items in one thread? Maybe packs of items...or one at a time......

If u want an honest price, just ask an honest price. If u want it all gone by saturday, it’ll have to be an incredibly good price.

The rules clearly state a price is needed or thread shall be removed. May be easier to start over...i dunno.

  7. Non drilled/siphon dependant overflows always make me really nervous. First tank i ever had used a CPR overflow...after i dumped 40 gallons of saltwater someone had to use CPR to revive me after my parents killed me.

  8. Some nice big bone cutters will help...if you don't have a bandsaw! Stay as far from the flesh as possible, it you do have to cut flesh, don't tear it...use a sharp razorblade. Light iodine dip if possible. As in add a small amount to some saltwater and dip for a minute or three.

  9. I have looked at the redsea reefers, and nearly bought a 350 recently...but I haven't seen anyone put a hood on it. Though I bet it could be done...but then by the time I build the stand too...might as well just custom build a tank! lol. Which is kinda where I am headed....though I would much prefer to just get it complete! My skills aren't in DIY:)
