  1. Thats really odd, I have him check my water all the time to compare. Has never onced questioned it. Was it Cos or someone he had working in there? Maybe im the lucky one. Feel like im the OIAB advocate here, but I have had good experiences there. Theres people that swear for that place across the river. Personally he will never get another dime of my money. I will always give a place a second chance. Bad days happen. But they happened again and again.

Noobs, were all the lights out or just the open sign? I know that light is always off it seems. My 6 year old tells him every time we go in there.

I usually give second chances too, cos used up both in 1 visit.cos was not there, his helper called him at home.

  2. I'm 100% in agreement. Myself understanding this more than most as the rules of keeping a nano or pico tank are different' date=' and I certainly can't expect any LFS to know what's appropriate for my tanks. Not too many people are familiar with these setups as they're relatively new in terms of viability and long term survivability. The list of what you can't do in a small system is bigger than the list of what you can do, so you need to research ad-nauseum before adding anything to your tank. Also, having had many chats with different LFS employees/owners, it's safe to say that many of them are very knowledgeable about many things, but it's impossible for them to know everything about your tank and your husbandry practices and what is ideal for your system. If you don't know what a particular coral or fish is, you shouldn't buy it until you know how to take care of it properly. Anyhow, this is nothing new, it's a philosophy that everyone should subscribe to.[/quote']

I never asked, or expect anyone to do my research. the issue is the nem was toast in 3 days. (My other four were then & stilll are, doing great.) i took & a water sample in so he could compare his test kits with my test kits for accuracy, (as is noted in my thread). They were not interested in testing, since they are not repsonsible . helping folks figure things is a philosphy all lfs should subscribe too. most of the ones i have gone too do.

  4. Sucks that someone would so that even if Cos isn't the easiest to deal with. People in this hobby should know better than to kill corals. I no longer shop there either but would never wish that type of childish act on him or anyone

+1 on that, just stating my last experience
