Here is the sump. I pick it up tomorrow after work!
Custom made by Ed of Ed's Reef. THANKS!!!
Sump is 48x20x18. First section is two filter socks and skimmer. Second section is open area for future equipment or fuge and the last section will be for the ATO and external pump.
From all the pics he send during the build process, and based on his other work, I think this sump is going to be very nice. I can't wait to pick it up, and will tell more of its quality tomorrow.

I would use plywood instead of chipboard. That chipboard doesn't like getting wet.
-
They are moving just down the street. I don't go there a lot so I am not sure if they have moved yet though.
-
Couldn't make sense of the second part. Are you saying that the stand is under built?
-
Ah nothing like a new build-isn't that 80% of the fun?
I think it might be more than 80% of the fun. Seems like as soon as one tank is built I'm already planning the upgrade.
-
Thanks Serge but the stand wont have any doors. And the hood will be something a little different also. But you will have to wait and find out.
-
+1 I love the way my 30'' tall tank looked. It really gave the fish some room to move around.
-
Are you going to to put supports under the center brace that crosses the tank?
Ya, like I said I still have some more framing to do.
-
Off to a good start! I like the floors in the room' date=' the tank will look really nice against the nice dark colors of the room.[/quote']
Tank is down in the man cave so I get to keep it nice and dark

Finch's sps Envision
Today was the start of my new build.
187g 60Lx30Wx24T Envision acrylics built sps dream tank.
The tank should be arriving shortly, so with that, I started work on the stand
I still have a little more framing to do and then I will start skinning.
All pluming will run through the wall behind the tank (which I painted black) and into the laundry/tank room.
More updates and pics to fallow soon.

your welcome. I hope next time you come over I have a new tank to show off.
-
just watch Reef Central like a hawk. I see them come up fairly often for a good deal. But when they do, act fast.
-
I had a 30'' tall tank and could just reach the bottom barely. So I feel a 24'' would be perfect, and the tank I am having built now will be 24''.
-
No. Usually they will be low voltage or you can get ones that are 120V
-
I just threw away like three or four that I have had laying around for years. They still worked just needed cleaned up. That sucks
-
OH!!!! You didn't!
-
you should be able to get those end caps from an electrical supply like Platt. Or even get ahold of Current, they may be able to get you replacement parts.

4 month old Tiny Might external pump, like new condition.
1200 gph
I just dont need it anymore, it's been a great pump.

Pending sale! Thanks Serge
-
How do you get them? I have seen miss colored ones before where they were yellow with white spots. Just never seen them for sale.
-
I dono. I wish the tank was better lit to really see the color. I was wondering if maybe it was an unhealthy yellow tang.
-
Definitely. I lit a 30'' cube with just one. If you look at the RS lumenbright thread on RC mike recommends the mini for 24'' and the large for 36'' wide tanks.

16 across x 7'' I believe

Another update: Not much has happened on the stand. I finished framing and have just started to skin. I got the top and two sides put on, and still have two sides plus trim. Possibly by mid next week I will have pics of the finished stand and maybe even the tank if I have time to get it this weekend.
