  1. Do you need any last minute christmas shopping for that special girl in your life? Check out my wife's web store (small but growing) www.susansbox.etsy.com She hand makes crocheted dolls and gloves, as well as custom orders... Also, if you tell her in your order that you're local you can pick up your order instead of having it shipped (shipping charges will still be charged, but then refunded post purchase via paypal, sorry we can't fix this) Thanks everyone & Merry X-mas Tae-kwon-Dude & Nanofaiery
  2. we ended up taking the advice and moved it to the other corner of the same (no window)...
  3. Ok, no more just looking at wet base rock!!! Ok, so we bought the set-up 8 months ago (rock2) (you can look above and see the dates on the previous posts) and ran out of funds before we could even get it fully setup (sad)...we managed to get water, sand and base rock in it and nothing else...(looking back we were happy that we didn't load up the salt as well) After 8 months of staring at soaking 'freshwater' rock (drooler), (2 weeks ago) we decided that it was finally time to finish the job...(clap) Day of decision... Top off and cycle "clean" water through tank 1 week after decision... Add salt (begin checking salt levels daily of course) 1.5 weeks after decision... Start checking all levels weekly 2 weeks after decision... add small scoop of live sand & 1 small live rock w/ some GSP on it (all from our nano)... ...live sand & rock for seeding ...GSP as canary in the mine shaft (i know GSP will grow anywhere...lol) now... keeping an eye on everything levels look good... GSP looks better than in the nano they came from... (almost tempted to move everything over from nano...that's the eventual plan) ill try to snap some updated pics this weekend and post on monday @ work
  4. you brought the lol's this made me lol (laugh)
  5. My wife, son & I are students of Aim High Martial Arts Academy. The school is located in Beaverton and teaches Tae-kwon-Do, Muay-Tae Kickboxing, Sport Marital Arts & Brazillian Jui-Jutsu. Students range from adults all the way down to 3 year olds. This is an excellent school that just earned their 501©3 non-profit status, and is really geared towards the family and the arts. We are holding our first (annual) "Kick-a-thon" fundraiser on June 6th for new gear and equipment. The kick-a-thon will last one hour. I am pledging 1,000 kicks during that time, which averages out to a kick about every 2.5 seconds. I am looking to my friends at PNWMAS for support, in hopes to help reach our goal. Sponsor pledges can be a donation per kick (i.e. 25 cents per kick) or a lump sum (i.e. $60). If anyone can please help, it would be most appreciated. I personally am pledging one of the highest kick amounts in the school (because I know I can do it). Due to my high amount of kicks, I'll accept any donation. Even a penny per kick is welcome (1 cent per kick still comes out to $10). If you would like to sponsor me, please post in this thread with the amount you wish to sponsor me for and send me a PM with your contact info. Thanks to everybody on PNWMAS... 14. On saturday my wife (nanofaiery) and I found ourselves over at waves and after about an hour or so, we ended up picking out everything we would need to get a tank up and running (aside from livestock of course). They gave us an sweet deal...Thx Joel...you guys are awesome. Joel is going to deliver it tonight...(clap) Now as for the tank itself...(rock2) 55 gallon (the one in the front of their shop that came w/ stand and hood) HOB overflow Sump & fuge combo Good pump (not sure which one, its the one joel recommended to us) 800gph @ 5ft. plus 2 outputs 40lbs playsand & 65lbs base rock (will add some of our live sand and live rock from our nano) Killer MH light fixture (not sure what brand it is) Now we have two months of looking at rock to look forward to...(laugh) Will get pictures tonight........
  15. Is this the BBQ associated w/ the Hatfield/Aquarium trip? If it is, I think my wife is going to make a big batch of chilaqueles (pronounced 'chi-la-key-lays')...if your not familiar with all of mexican cooking, they are like scrambled cheese enchilades...(drooler)(drooler)(drooler)
  16. I saw one the other day at the PetCo at 185th & Cornell in Beaverton
  17. I was just looking through a thread of yours and I noticed something...in one of your pictures your tank setup seems to look kinda like a snap shot of the trees in Zelda: A Link to the Past...check it out...
  18. interesting idea, multipathing...I saw an acrylic sump box at waves that had 2 entrance chambers contained in the same box... 1)tank -> junk catch sock chamber -> sump main chamber -> tank 2)tank -> small fuge chamber -> sump main chamber -> tank I guess kinda same thing, just in one box...
  19. would especially love to see some pics of the sapphires, arctic ice, halloween, blue/green/silver, fruity pebbles, hypnotics, Eye of Jupiters...maybe have to take a few off your hands
