Is there no room underneath for a traditional sump?
-
I'm curious to see what others say about the alk reading. Seems high to me. If you wanted to push your calcium higher, could you do that without raising your alkalinity further?
-
Looks good, what are you planning on keeping?

Pm's replied to. Sorry that took so long. DOH!

For those who havnt seen it, I came across a three part underwater series called 3D Reef on Netflix right now. Part 1 about the red sea is very good allthough the music could possibly put you to sleep.(bored)

"Beef-like extract"? Sound pretty nasty. Wonder how they ever came up with the idea for this mixture.

Very, very nice

Totally bad salt man, anyone on the fence about there salt getting old and rotten just send it my way and I'll dispose of it free of charge.

BADASS!!! The color rendition and growth indicators are gosh darn awesome. Great thread.
Thank you. Thank you
So very cool, I got an email with pictures of the top. It will be done Sunday. I have my lights currently 19" above water line at 95%, now they will be at 12" above water. Anyone have any input on weather or not I should dim the lights at all? Or just leave it?

Last two dook frags are gone. LC Scott picked up his and got one for Kimberlee as well. Good luck to all! I've got mine squarely under a 20k elos 250 watt mh for the record. I'm going to lighten it up then put it in the display up high and blast it with flow. (naughty)

$45 Here, im sure i can find a new project for it.

This is just my opinion but i would rather have increased water volume than a deep sand bed. If you calculate a 5 inch sand bed for my tank at 48"x18"x5" thats 18.7 gallons of water lost. There are more than enough creatures and critters roaming your live rock to do the job of a DSB.

Thought i would bump this up. The green slimer was from westside. They are getting to be monster frags.

Some gsp you can take somthing sharp like a fragging scalpel and get under it. Then keep working it and peel it off like turf.
Then wait 15 minutes and it will grow back.

That's so frustrating! I hate stuff like that. Let's make a house call lol
I know, giddy up. It's double annoying because he's actually a nice guy and it's a super good deal but [language filter], not sure when to pull the plug. Oh well, I guess this would be the definition of a first world problem.
On another note. I'm getting some noticeable growth and coloration since I've started with the LED's. I have a frag that I'm using as a bench mark and it has fully encrusted the plug and gone from a creamy color to purple with neon green polyps so far. Also my stylo which I got from SWF Is getting its bright pink back after turning green with my old lights. (clap)
I added the 6 blues to my UV strip heatsink and is just enough to take out that hint of yellow and also looks great at night. Pretty much just really pleased with my tank overall right now.

This was recomended to me by mohaynow, works really well, I used a clamp on utility fixture.

Like coral or anything else in our tank, different plants and algae need different spectrums and conditions. I'm going to look up the last bulb I bought because it was a winner. Got it from amazon.
