It's not as dramatic as it looks. The brain has lost some color but the camera seems to white out my sand bed. I guess it doesn't help that my clowns host it either.
-
That's disappointing, I've been eye balling that one for a while. Still tempted.
-
That one was for sale in 2010 from wet thumbs, couldn't find it anymore or a name. Beautiful.
I'm lusting after the Vivid rainbow delight(drooler), was thinking of calling them today.

Darryl
Sorry, all gone.
Here's mine so far

The latest issue of reef hobbyist "the one with the magnificent anemone on the cover" has a step by step pictorial about small scale DIY led pico hoods. Building from scratch. Looks super nice. Here's a pic of a pic.

Probly not going to find a better home than that. Offer

Saw this the other day. There's a 125 on here and a really cool shallow 90.
-
Better late than never...shipping was rough on my frag, but I'll catch up.
Lots of potential, glad you got it.
Well I'm not sure what colors its turning into but it looks like a blueish body/tips and maybe greenish polyps/coralites10-03

28 days past 17 to go-(laugh)
Amazing, this could actually turn out to be a cool looking coral. Worthy of a new name? Maybe

FYI it looks like the Halloween sale is more savings than the group buy in a lot of cases. If you log In the discount price is the group rate, log out and you see the 10.31% off.

Ha! Your tank blew me away when I first saw it. Inspired me to go SPS. Thanks!
-
looks so good about full up on corals yeah?
All part of my plan to plead my case for a larger tank(whistle)
Very nice tank. It will be awsome when all the sps corals are fully grown.Everything is growing noticeably faster right now, should be nice when it fills in. There are a lot of frags on the rocks that you can't see.
I think the tank looks DOPE! I think the pictures might look better if you turned the exposure compensation down a third to two thirds of a stop. The whites are a bit blown out, so the change should allow the color your eye sees to come through. Plus, I kinda wanna see it to.That's a great tip, I'm going to mess around again tonight.
Great tank.
Very nice. looking great like the new LR lay out' date=' and coral color combos you have going on. Would love a piece of that purple Monti?center of the tank.. if you ever get around to fragging it.[/quote']You mean the green monti? If so the magnet scraper is rubbing on it which means its time to snap some off. Your welcome to it.
I think it is so awesome how you have sps growing out of the plating coral in the middle that is really niffty =)Have to give credit to Shaun M for that idea. Good use of real estate.

Well technically the first two were rescued - extremely thin and probably not going to make it as they refused food. I thought for sure the third one would make it' date=' but sure enough by the end of the second week- a goner. The fourth one had come from a local store (won't mention names)that believes copper is the answer for all fish alike, and as soon as the copper wore off, this fish became listless and stressed immediately. And finally number five looked great from the start but hid immediately when released in my reef and not caring to eat anything offered. I gave up at that point and told myself it's just not meant to be. Finally after a few months I was in another local shop and saw the powder brown. His demeanor appeared more assertive and was eating like a pig. He does great in my 180 gallon reef tank.[/quote']
Nice, well congrats on the tang.

Is the GB discount on top of the 10.31% Halloween discount? If so that would be spooktacular.
-
Woah, this is your 5th blue tang? In how long? Can you give a tank description?
-
Thanks all. Looking forward to sitting back and watching it grow out now. (naughty)

I'm not a rude person and not one to try to start problems. But is it just me or is this guy seriously trying to rip people off? I don't get how he can sleep at night know he ordered some chalices from Vietnam' date=' Australia, or Indonesia... Then tries to sell it 1500 an eye? lol Am I right or am I an ***? (flame)(flame)(flame)(flame)(flame)(flame)(flame)(flame)(flame)(flame)(flame)(flame)[/quote']
I wouldn't get too worked up, who ever buys this is not hurting for money and probly really really enjoys the coral they get. Shoot, I'm going to start a site called sexier corals and charge $1600 and eye.
-
Yup squamosa. There's a purple maxima next to it and a small golden teardrop that just walked all the way around and is now behind the squamosa.

I have been re arranging/removing rock work, adding and taking away coral over the last few months and i thought i would put up a picture. Finally got the last of the GSP out and swapped out that infested rock for a nice piece with large hiding spots in it that was in my sump. My camera skills have not improved and everything looks kind of white washed to me but here's how my tank looks.
-
5 years, reef from the start. Never did FW unless goldfish bowls count.
-
You can make one out of egg crate and suction cups or magnets but for somthing that you have to look at in your display tank I would buy a nice acrylic one. I think they are between 15-20$. I'll look around I think I have one.
-
No way!!! That's horrible. The ones he showed me must have been Internet pics I bet. Sorry to hear. We have a full wood shop at work let me know if you need anything
Thanks, I've got plenty of tools but this might be the excuse I'm looking for to get a table saw finally.
Hey Toby - how close is the fit of the other hood? It might be able to be repaired/modified. I can help walk you though it or you are welcome to bring it over so tools are available. The fit was way off, probably could have done somthing to make it temperary but there were several things about it that bothered me so might as well start over. I'm sure I'll have a few questions for you though. (whistle)
Dude' date=' that sucks! I'd be rather ticked off too. I'm with Arminius on seeing what can be done to salvage it, or I guess just starting over. My brother has a supreme woodshop and skills, and a double kegerator, and would likely enjoy us hanging out while he whipped something up just for the company if you're interested in trying it yourself.[/quote']Yes that did suck, I was so jazzed about LEDs after the meeting and looking forward to getting everything all set up and then it was all over. Anyway I'm over it. Just proves, you get what ou pay for, and what's another good one? Oh, if you want somthing done right do it your self! (rock2)(rock2)
-
I love the par 38, but I've seen a few tanks recently with mini hoods and DIY LEDs inside. I saw a really nice one at barrier reef not long ago. Great build so far.
-
Well !&"@$. Got my canopy last night. Bunch of things wrong with it right off the bat but no big deal, didn't say anything. I'm not going to wait another 2 months for repair. Well the guy leaves and after stripping my old hood off I go to put the new one on and it and it doesn't fit! (flame) like literally unusable. Thumbs down for Ramel Stark. If I would have given someone the same money to punch me in the face it would have been faster and been less agrovating. Put my old hood back together after a couple hours last night. I'm not much of a carpenter but I'm going to make my own now. (gavel) I'm laughing now but man I was P O'ed last night.

(drooler)Wow. What's the tabling piece in the second pic? Also like the slim tang picture.
Diving into the land of pico ( take two)...
