  1. I got my first rics with a trade. Thanks Brandon. I bought a new fish for the 20, I think it will be the only fish for this tank.
  2. Maybe I should start oil painting again with my free time. I could paint my fish and corals. I did sell a painting once. I'm not sure it counts if I sold it to my brother. But I only sold it to him because he wouldn't let me put it on the internet for sale because he wanted it. I've never tried to sale any other paintings. I guess now I'm just thinking out in type.
  3. Tech support, customer service, education, and more. It's hard for me to nail it down. I always have fun and am able to do any job I have ever taken. I am looking for something that is either very challenging or always changing. I know that doesn't say much, so,, I love: building things, science, challenges, and creativity. Mainly I've done (from oldest to newest) graphic arts, woodworking, customer service and sales, tech support, and education. My interests include camping, backpacking, fly-fishing, rock collecting, skiing, brewing beer, building computers, gaming, movies, solar cooking, alternate energy, and (you knew it) reefing. I have fun working with any of these interests. Maybe I need to finish school, I was going to be a physics teacher. But for school classes, I find the physics part so much more fun than the teaching part. So I decided I don't want to be a teacher, so I was trying to decide what degree I wanted and now I moved away and thought maybe I could find a career that would allow my wife and I to have a kid or two and buy a house. That is all I want. Sorry I run on sometimes, it is stream of conscience writing.
  4. chorse, I have already planned on stopping by next time I am in Portland. I hear great things and I look forward to checking it out for myself.
  5. CA2OR, I have checked the website and they don't have any jobs at the moment. Maybe I did the wrong search. I thought I would just check back from time to time. My wife doesn't want to live in Portland, or near it, but I think I could talk her into it if I find a good job. It would be a long commute so I would have to move shortly after taking a job in Portland.
  6. Sometimes when you add gas and drivetime, it's cheaper to have it shipped. And liveaquaria.com has a 14 day guarantee. Why don't local fish shops have a 14 day guarantee? If you want to get what you see, diversden at liveaquaria.com works. I do like liveaquaria. On the other hand I try to buy local if I can. Often I pay more but I do it anyway. That being said, I don't understand how some LFSs stay in business trying to charge an arm and a leg. Maybe some people don't shop around at all. I don't have the luxury of buckets of money laying around, so I have to get the most for what I have. I had a few stores in SLC that I liked. Since the move here I've been looking for great stores around me. I have found a few that I like and some that I wont go back to. Just my two cents.
  7. Very cool! I like the setup. This is like the quality version of my 20.
  8. Hello, My name is Jesse. I'm from Utah. I moved to Oregon with my wife a couple months ago. Job hunting hasn't been very good and I thought maybe some of you can help. I live in Corvallis with my in-laws but I am able to move to the right job. I have experience with PC technical support, aide teaching at an elementary school, woodworking, serving at a restaurant, and cashiering. I have my associate of science degree, plus other physics- and education-related credits from the University of Utah. I have many talents and am looking for a career I can enjoy for many years. I wouldn't mind working at a marine and reef store. Thank you, Jesse
  9. I guess I'll mark everything as pending until the people who have spoken up have gotten what they want. Thanks for looking.
  10. I'm a very happy reefer. Mad like crazy. I felt like a mad scientist when I first started reefing and my brother calls my tanks my science project. Maybe I should be HappyReefer. Happy tanks make happy livestock.
  11. Maybe you can find someone to check it at a DNA level.
  12. Plus feather caulerpa free (left) large type (right) $5 Tiny frogspawn starters $5 I have more I'll try to get pics up later.
  13. Say what you will, but Utah could have beat any team this year. It's foolish to not decide this on the field.
  14. I've read that bubbles can kill clams. I don't know if it's true.
  15. The problem is that we will never know.
  16. I had some hair algae on a pipe that was unreachable by snails, so I moved one of my big turbos to it and that snail is already done eating half of it and it's only been an hour.
