So far as I can tell The true actinic blue is what makes the colors the brights glowing almost.

I am amazed. I was thinking of putting Tek 8 fixture in and have been told no sps would live. Yet here once again different folks swear by what they have. Now I have to start the talk all over again with hubby. I think he just wants me to make up my mind. Would love to see ands hear more.

I used the the product from Rose city and killed each one off the first time. Hubby looks like a boy with salt on slugs with that stuff. I do have a peppermint shrimp as well & a copperband butterfly. Neither ever touched them.

Wow still looks like MH still have a fan base. It seem to me that the 8 Tek light would be great. Still looking and NOW I'm starting to think of a unit all together that has both MH & T5s in one unit. AAAHHhhh

Kris, I have sham-wow thought it would be great for all the water around the tank. Thought it would be good dog towel to. I got water lines and hair mated into them. Mark may have great tanks with sand is it "really" that great of stuff. I'm with Andy on this one

LOL, I found Ketchup packets easier to come by but...... still looking at new lights.

My tank is 60x24x24 The tek 8 bulb fits inside in the canopy perfectly from front to back and shy a few inches on each end. I can't ever think that I need to keep really high ends corals. I thought with that much light clams and super hi light corals would be the only thing off limits. Am I wrong

O.k. I can see that MH are the choice so far. Hubby is concerned with heat, elec bill and so on. I thought Tek instead of knock off was pushing it. No icon for (hubby with rolling pin) LOL. He's been great about all I have spent on new hobby BUT!

I am thinking of up grading my lights. Here it goes 150gl acylic Mostly softies but never know what I will want in the future. Tek 48 4bulb just enough(scratch) Tek 48 6 bulb could have more options DOH! Tek 48 8 bulb over kill :eek: Lets hear I'm sure many are ready to let me have it! Beckie

Many Tangs do fine together depending on the order added. I would look into it further. "IF" it is hair and you have a desire to add more Tang's than yellow is a great eater of it.

It looks like hair to me. I got some growth when I added more rock as well. No sun hitting the tank. High & low flow didn't matter. A new yellow tang cleared it out in 4 days. I have heard that removing the rock pulling what you can off, then replace the rock can slow it's spread.... "remove the rock " don't pull it off in the tank. I'm sure other will chime in

Latest up date.... It has found a new spot to rest. IN THE BACK both clowns are still hosting. For now it look happy, as for me I sure would like a better view.

I can add more lights if I have to. Hubby is having a fit. But I love watching the clowns. How long should I wait before I'll know I need to add more. Should I redo the rock work, change flow?

O.k. I am sure this is a total newbie ? After getting my anemone it settled right in, clowns hosting and looking good. It has decided to talk a walk about for 2 days. I understand that it is normal. The problem is that it seems to be damaging birds nest, mushrooms, fan's .... just about every thing but fish:eek:. How do I prevent it as much as posible until it settles in?
