  1. Thanks Dsoz, I wasn't expecting to get the refugium done so soon. I thought I had another week but the stuff I ordered came in early. Oregon City is a little bit farther than I really want to drive for some Chaeto, but if I can't get some closer I'll take you up on your offer.
  2. Thanks, Doran I'll send Andy a PM.
  3. Anyone in the Vancouver area, or that works near Swan Island during the day, have any chaeto for sale? I just set up my refugium and need to get some in there! Thanks Shane
  4. Thanks Matt, Thanks for the tank and the frags it was a pleasure doing business with you. Shane
  5. Will it work as a QT? If so I'll take it. If you can fit in your vehicle, I'll be at the meeting this afternoon. Thanks Shane
  6. Crap, wish I would have seen this sooner. The wife picked up a 10 gal to surprise me. You would have saved me $2.00 and added six extra gallons. DOH! Thanks anyway. Shane
  7. Sorry jayR I need it to keep the tank circulating. I thought I might need less, but I am currently fighting a Cyano breakout(flame), and find I need more circulation in some dead spots. Really like your Zoas though. (drooler) Shane
  8. Yeah, looks like I am headed for that. A ten should work and for $12 not to shabby.(rock2) Shane
  9. Thanks Casey I am going to add to this thread. I met Casey and his lovely wife today while conducting some fishy business! (whistle) Two amazing people with amazing tanks, and they cut me a heck of a deal. They even offered up some extra freebie pieces. (rock2) Casey it was an absolute pleasure doing business with you and your wife. Everything is already open and looking awesome, including the Torch coral. I think it will pull through, you've got to love T-5's. As soon as my tank is a little more muture I would love doing business with you again. :p Thank you, and take care Shane
  10. Does anybody have a 15 gal tall they would like to get rid of? I need a tank or sump in the area of 20 (lenght) x 10 (width) x 16 (height). The length and width are pretty cruical, height I can work with. It doesn't need to be pretty, just hold water. I'll be using it for a refugium. thanks Shane
  11. I am currently using a Koralia 3 and Koralia 1 in my tank and I think it is a little too much for my 55. Does anybody have a Koralia two they would be willing to trade for my Koralia three. If your close enough I'll even come and get it. It has only been in use for about two months and is in good condition. Thanks Shane
  12. On the emerald crab, I lost mine for a week or two and when I found him again I didn't recognize him. He had molted and was little bigger then a 50 cent piece. Now he looks like some creature out of a Godzilla movie roaming around on the rocks. (rock2) I have the those black and white stiped legs/tenticles sticking out of a couple pieces of rock. Not sure what they are, all I ever see is them waving around in the air. I always tell my kids we have Krakens living in the rocks. (laugh) My youngest gets a kick out of it.

Yes it moves like a snail. It's shell if you can call it that it is round and covered in algae and fine like hairs.

(scary) What the heck is this thing, and is it good or bad? Had the tank up for two and a half months , first time I have seen it. Thanks Shane
  17. Rider, Don't get me wrong, if I had the money I would have too, used or not. Shane
  18. The add says never used. Hmmmmm???
  19. Take it from a noobie you did the right thing. I look at the LFS as the expert. I would much rather you be truthful and up front with me then just sale me something to make a buck, and have me fail or unable to maintain it. Will I be disappointed, probably, but if you refer me to something else it usually takes away some of that disappointment. Truthful and upfront = loyal customer!
  20. I just ordered live rock from Doran and I have to say I am positively mesmerized by the amount of live critters running around on it. I think I like the hitchhikers more than I like the rest of my tank. Thanks Doran, you will be seeing me again.(rock2)
  21. Doran, If you are talking about the picture I took have at it. Shane
  22. Thanks guys. Wife and kids think it's cool. I don't really have anything in the tank right now except my rock, sand, couple snails, emerald crab, tiger cowrie, and cleaner shrimp, so for now he'll stay. Later it may have to go though.
  23. Okay I found a new hitchhiker this afternoon when I got home from work. I believe it is a small, about the size of an M&M, starfish. It has four legs and they are short and thick, not long and skinny. The top looks gray or brown, underneath is white. I guess two questions: (scratch) 1. Is it a Starfish? 2. Should I get him out while I can? I am planning on going full on reef and I understand some of these guys are not reef friendly. Shane
  24. +1 This is the Stockman Version of the Durso. It is what I use as I have limited space in my overflow. If you Google Stockman you should find the DIY pretty easliy. My overflow sounded like a toliet flushing, but since installing this version all you hear is the water cascading down the pipe. I also went from 1" pipe out of the overflow to 1.5" back to 1" where it connects to my sump.
