  1. I am trying to retrofit my 55 gallon flat back hex canopy with a combination of MH and either VHO's/T5's. If anyone has the setup to do this and they are looking to sell it let me know. The tank is 20" deep. I am most likely looking for either a retrofit kit with 175w's or 150's as I think 250w's might be to much over 20"
  2. bump. . . light is still available all ready to go
  3. I had a great time listening to Bob talk and definitely learned a lot. Hope to see another great speaker sometime in the future.
  4. I just wanted to say thank you to the club for an outstanding presentation this afternoon. My dad and I learned so much listening to Bob talk for even a few hours, I even bought another one of his books when I got home. So thank you again for a great guest speaker and I look forward to being able to take part in future events. ~Will
  5. NO!! The video was taken down before I could go watch the HD goodness!
  6. I would like one as well. I work in Portland so just let me know when and where your going to meet up.
  7. Call me today if you get a chance from my pm. I am in southern portland right off hwy 26
  8. If someone can commit to buying this today I will sell it for 350, all boxed up and ready to go.
  9. I set up my entire 37g tank from pets are people too. They were absolutely great in getting me set up. Also the live rock that I bought from them has been great with no apastia or any problems like that. I will probably be buying my new live rock from them when I get back and starting the tank then. I am going to bring the 37 back with me to school as well to keep my current fish and my few corals happy til the 55 gets done with its cycle. I am going to use a few scoops of the live sand from the old tank during moving to kick start the other tank, along with live rock/fuge setup. I did not know about Palouse Pets until recently. I went online and searched for Saltwater fish pet stores and all I got was Pets are people too. I will have to definately check them out as I would like to be able to order what I want rather than just chosing from their standard stock. I was thinking about getting a Kole or Tomini after reading someones post earlier in the general forums, and seeing the beautiful fish that he was looking at from Waves. I just have to resist the urge to start the tank cycle before I go to school, although I guess moving ~40 gallons of water is not that much harder than 30... Must have self control...
  10. I am really interested in your Mandarin Goby. Can you post a pic? Also I work in Portland near the Ross Island Bridge so I can come get him easily after work if all works out.
  11. Ya that would probably not be so great. The corals I have would have lots of their own space, but I definately wouldn't want them to become food.
  12. I am looking for a sump for my 55g Flat back hex tank. If anyone has anything about 15 gallons or so that would be great. I have a hang on the back skimmer that I am going to modify to go on the sump, but if you have one your trying to sell I might be interested.
  13. I am looking for (2xKoralia 3) and (1x Koralia 1). If anyone has any extra lying around they are looking to sell let me know.
  14. Well what kind of personable fish along the same lines as a tang could I put in there. It will be the most recognizable thing in the tank for the people to look at who are in my apartment, and the two clowns/goby-shrimp combos will be for me.
  15. So as of right now the plan is to have two clowns, their anemone, a goby and a pistol shrimp pair, and hopefully a tang of some kind. I am looking for someone who is fairly knowledgable about tangs. I am looking for one that will be ok in a 55g tank without having to upgrade within the next two years that I am at school. So if anyone knows one that would be well suited or a few different kinds that would be great.
  16. The carpet anemone found a new home tonight with a woman named Penny who it turns out only lives a few blocks down the road from me. Good luck with a great little guy Penny.

  18. Well I guess putting in G B T A provides a british flag, who would have guessed. DOH!
  19. I just realized I haven't given a complete list of my current inhabitants, that might help a bit. 1 percula clown 1 peppermint shrimp ~12 hermits 4 turbo snails (these are probably going to need a new home) 1 carpet anemone (currently looking for a new home) 1 GBTA 1 small 8-10 polyp zoa frag a rock with some waving hand xenia (doing great) pieces have spread out on two different rocks across the tank. ~3" yuma small 2" torch coral frag This is everything besides the ~#40 of live rock that is in my 37g tank at home. Besides the carpet this all is going to be coming with me to the new tank at school. I might be cycling a little tank ~20 gallons in the next month or so to have a place for the frags/rock/fish to go til the bigger tank can do its small cycle. But I was looking at the relationship between gobies and pistol shrimp today as suggested and that looks pretty interesting, it also would provide some movement and life towards the bottom of the tank. What would be some appropriate sized fish that are on the larger side opposed from the clown/goby that would be ok in the 55 gallon/reef safe. (tangs, anthias, etc.)
  20. Well right now I have two anemone that have been doing great for over 7 months in my tank at home. One of which is going to make the trip with me to school along with a percula clown. I am trying to find an onyx perc or another perc to go with her. Then from there I will see what I can do. the lighting might be my constraining factor for a little bit. I am going to be running 4x65w PC's for a while over the new tank, but will have halides and either vho's or t5's soon.
  21. Ya I have been reading a lot about mandarins lately and if I do decide to get one it will definately be a single. Living out in the middle of no where its going to be hard to get pods. I would have to order, but ups/fed/dhl all come while I am in class so Spokane is about the closest I can find. Right now I am thinking that two clowns, some lps/softies (sps when I upgrade the lighting), and a few other reef safe fish are looking like the most likely outcome. Maybe a blenny or a goby so add some life to the bottom of the tank.
  22. I have for sale a 24'' MH light. The light brand new cost me $595 from Coralreefecosystems.com (http://www.coralreefecosystems.com/l...unsupply-1.asp). I also put in a 10,000k Ushio Aqualite double ended HQI ($75), 2x 24w Actinic bulbs ($50), and an electronic ballast ($125). The system is less that two weeks old and I currently have it hanging above a 37g tank. Overall the light setup cost me $750. Probably paid a bit much for it but I made the impulsive move and bought it. I am sure some people know that mood which I speak of. I have sadly moved on right after buying this light to a little bit bigger tank and I need to sell this one to pay for some of the new tank. I am looking to get somewhere around 350-400 for this light as it is essentially brand new. The pictures I added are of the actual light, the box showing it has a two year warranty with the local company Sunlight supply out of Vancouver, Wa. And then the side of the box showing whats included in the light (plus the bulbs/ballast)
  23. Ok here is a little bit better picture. He is all scrunched down because I just fed him a piece of shrimp. At least it shows he eats well. The pictures also shows the color a little better. For a little bit better size idea that is about a two inch percula clown.
  24. Ya I am reading as much as I can about moving tanks, and at this point if I coordinate correctly I am hoping to be ok. And of course... Go Cougs!
